The Makin Waves Song of the Week is Bongo Boy recording artists The New Bardots' cover of Ohio Express' "Yummy Yummy Yummy" from their six-song salute to gum rock "Already Been Chewed (A Return to Bubblegum)." Here’s the media premiere of the video for the tune:
As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Yummy Yummy Yummy” can be heard at 5 and 11 a.m., 5 p.m. and midnight on 6:45 PM on ThePenguinRocks.com, as well as Friday and Monday on its “Radio Jersey” show.
"Already Been Chewed" also includes two other bubblegum classics, 1910 Fruit Company's "Simon Says" and Crazy Elephant's "Gimme Gimme Good Lovin'," plus a cover of the late, great Philly rocker Robert Hazard's "Change Reaction," and two originals, "Sweet as Honey" and "Wake Up Smell the Coffee," which fuse bubblegum beats and melodies with New Bardots members' many years of edgy punk and garage chops in such bands as The Doughboys, Rockids, Oliver Twist and Oliver Wylde.
