Jersey funk band Freakwincey will celebrate their 40th anniversary on Oct. 9 at Soul Anchor in Burlington.
Earlier this year, the Plainfield-originated P-Funk-inspired band Freakwincey released what may be their best song, the Kool & the Gang-like fun of “Let's Get Our Funk On.”
In celebration of the veteran outfit’s 40th anniversary, the funky nugget is the Makin Waves Song of the Week.
As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, “Let's Get Our Funk On” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Oct. 1 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com.
Then you can see Freakwincey live when they celebrate their 40th anniversary on Oct. 9 at Soul Anchor in Burlington, where their greatest hits will include the hysterical classic “I Farted.”
