Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary Is Launched By Canna Provisions

originally published: 10/15/2021

(LEE, MA) -- Canna Provisions, the award-winning leader of the adult-use retail cannabis community in Western Massachusetts, recently announced a line of cannabis pre-roll joints using Smash Hits cannabis, Canna Provisions proprietary craft cannabis flower called Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary.  Canna Provisions stores in Lee and Holyoke Massachusetts will be the exclusive carriers of Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary cannabis pre-rolls which will be rolled using hand-grown high-CBD, low-THC craft cannabis from Canna Provisions available for all 21+ adults.

This cannabis is meant to provide a powerful feeling of well-being and enriching your endocannabinoid system with high-CBD and low-THC flower, so it’s less of a stoned-high and more a full-body balancing effect with uplifting pep. The impact of the global pandemic was a wake-up call to Van Zandt, as it was to others, to the importance of personal well-being. He would start Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary and release a line of holistic teas, lollipops, and candles created to turn on people’s immune systems and control their own wellness.

“The United States may be the only country in the world that considers healthcare, both physical and mental, as an afterthought. Little Steven's Underground Apothecary was created to help combat that issue by focusing on natural, holistic remedies. Some will help relax you, some will help energize you, all will help you take charge of your own wellness.” says Van Zandt.

And with so many states enacting medical or recreational legalization laws, cannabis remaining federally illegal was a wrong that needed to be righted in the eyes of Van Zandt.

“We need to help spread cannabis education, destigmatization, and stop unjust criminalization for a plant that not only does a lot of good but has proven during COVID to be almost as essential as art to people’s well-being and quality of life,” says Van Zandt.

“You don’t have to smoke cannabis or even use it to support national legalization, but for those that do use it, Little Steven wanted to be sure to have an approachable, low-THC and high-CBD cannabis that is less about the recreational high, and more for people seeking the benefits of cannabis and cannabinoids like high-CBD cannabis on the body and mind,” says Meg Sanders, Canna Provisions CEO.

This isn’t the first time Sanders has partnered with a musician or woven cannabis and the arts together in the culture. Previously Sanders has partnered with Willie Nelson’s estate to Launch Willie’s Reserve. Additionally, in 2015, 60 Minutes shot a broadcast feature on Meg as a rising leader in the Denver cannabis scene after working with other dispensaries and cannabis partners to sponsor a series of Bring Your Own Pot “BYOP” fundraisers to support the Colorado Symphony Orchestra with friend, cannabis activist/lobbyist, and then-chief clarinetist for the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra, Shawn Coleman.

As an agent of social change, Van Zandt says cannabis needs all the help it can get to help right the wrongs of the so-called “War on Drugs” and continue to fight for national legalization and increased access for adults seeking safe, legal cannabis. 10% of profits from sales of Little Steven’s Underground Apothecary pre-rolls will go to the National Organization for Marijuana Legalization (NORML).

"I have always demanded the very best from myself and of everyone around me, and my new wellness brand Little Steven's Underground Apothecary is no different,” says Van Zandt. “Products like Smash Hits cannabis are like my other partners for the Apothecary - the best I can find in the world. So enjoy, be well, and stay focused on the only part of our destinies we totally control - what we choose to put in our bodies.”

Canna Provisions’ commitment to growing the best cannabis genetics in its state-of-the-art facility is fueled by a superstar cultivation team with decades in cannabis cultivation. Thanks to seeds and genetics only available to one of the most knowledgeable and recognizable growers in America, Canna Provisions Director of Cultivation and legacy market cannabis icon - Greg “Chemdog” Krzanowski - as well as the just-debuted Massmosa strain spearheaded by Grow Manager Johnny Greenfingaz - underscores the cultivars and cannabis strains only available at Canna Provisions locations in Western Massachusetts through Smash Hits cannabis.

A West Mass native, Krzanowski’s expertise in growing some of the most sought after and popular strains of flower has resulted in such staple high-end strains as Sour Diesel, OG Kush, Chemdog, Chem D, and many others.

Canna Provisions has locations in the Pioneer Valley and in the Berkshires where the company is headquartered 300 yards off the first exit into Massachusetts from New York state on I-90/Mass Pike.
