(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Jersey City Slam presents Cash Slam featuring Damian Rucci on Thursday, August 24 at Tea NJ. The first ten poets who come with $20 will be able to compete for the opportunity to win $100. Sign up is at 6:30pm. The slam is three rounds long and the event runs from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Damian Rucci is the featured guest.
Rucci is a writer and poet from New Jersey whose work has recently appeared in Beatdom, Eunoia Review, Indiana Voice Journal, and basements and coffee shops across the country. He is the author of A Symphony of Crows (Indigent Press), Tweet and Other Poems (Maverick Duck Press), and The Former Lives of Saints (EMP). He is the host of the Poetry in the Port reading series.
Admission is free. Tea NJ is located at 262 Newark Ave in Jersey City, New Jersey (within walking distance of the PATH train). Doors open at 6:00pm and the show starts promptly at 7:00pm.
