(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- The Jersey City Arts Council, with the support of more than two dozen local arts organizations, will host a discussion of the issues with Mayor Steven Fulop and mayoral candidate Bill Matsikoudis. The first Jersey City Arts Forum will be held at White Eagle Hall on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 7:30pm. Ann Marie Miller, the Director of Advocacy and Public Policy at ArtPride NJ, will moderate the discussion between the candidates.
Many of the issues which affect artists are also core concerns for the citizens of Jersey City, and so the topics of the mayoral forum will include development, gentrification and affordable housing, as well as arts funding and long-term planning for the arts.
The mayoral discussion will start at 7:30pm, but the doors will open at White Eagle Hall at 6:30 to allow attendees to network with members of the arts community. There will also be a networking session at the conclusion of the event.
The Jersey City Arts Forum was made possible by the generosity of the Jersey City Theater Center and Ben LoPiccolo Development Group.
White Eagle Hall is located at 337 Newark Avenue in Jersey City, New Jersey.
