INSIDE MUSIC: The Writers Block Blues

By Rosemary Conte

originally published: 07/18/2015

(Dedicated to all writers, and sung to a 12-bar blues progression)

Sittin’ here in Starbucks  /  Feelin’ mighty glum

Watching folks on laptops / Concentratin’ some

Lookin’ at their keyboards / Fingers flying fast

I’m gettin’ green with envy / And I need a coffee blast

Yea, thanks a Latte, Jesus! / I got the Writers-Block Blues

I’m feelin’ really sick now / My sleepless nights they grow

My doctor says this illness / Interrupts creative flow

There ain’t no vaccination / For inspiration lock

My vocabulary’s quarantined / And all I write is schlock!

My brain’s on anesthesia / I got the Writers Block Blues

 Tag:

Got the Writers Block Blues / Got the Writers Block Blues

I’m one big error message / I got the Writers Block Blues!
