Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band To Perform At Grunin Center For OCC Benefit

Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band To Perform At Grunin Center For OCC Benefit

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- On Saturday, April 7, the Ocean County College Foundation and the Jay and Linda Grunin Center for the Arts are partnering to host the Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band: TUSK in a benefit concert to support the students of Ocean County College. For one night, only, enjoy an evening of incredible music and food as you support the mission of the Ocean County College Foundation.

This special performance of TUSK will be held on the Grunin Center Main Stage, Ocean County College Main Campus, College Drive, Toms River. Proceeds will support the mission of the Ocean County College Foundation with a portion of the proceeds going to the OCC Repertory Theatre Company.

TUSK covers all the great hits of Fleetwood Mac, which featured the talents of Mick Fleetwood, Christine and John McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks. The five seasoned, well-respected musicians comprising TUSK have been making music together in various combinations and styles, in original outfits and in cover bands, for over 25 years. It seemed only fitting that they should come together to form the Ultimate Fleetwood Mac Tribute, and pay homage to a group that dominated the charts during the band members’ formative years. Authentic-sounding and always respectful, TUSK leaves no stone unturned in replicating the sounds of one of the world’s best-loved, top-selling bands.

Tickets for Concert Only: 8:00 p.m., Main Stage, $45 (orchestra and mezzanine) -- VIP Reception & Concert: 6:30 pm, Black Box, $100 (includes wine, beer, gourmet hors d’oeuvres, and concert)

For tickets, call the Grunin Center Box Office at Ocean County College, 732-255-0500 or visit www.grunincenter.org

Pat DiNizio: In His Own Words

Pat DiNizio: In His Own Words

We’ve lost many rockers in recent years, but Pat was one of us. When I first heard about his passing, I instantly recalled one special night at The Strand in Lakewood.  DiNizio was part of a Backstage Pass show (one that turns the theater into a listening room with the audience sitting on the stage with the artist) in which Pat played a few songs and shared stories about his life. He was very introspective that night and might have given us a special New Jersey version of his old Las Vegas show “Confessions of a Rock Star.”  These were stories about growing up in New Jersey, raising a daughter after a divorce, first successes with the band, and the moment he realized he wanted to play rock and roll for the rest of his life.  The show was broadcast live on our internet radio station and after searching through old hard drives, the recording was found.  What follows is one night with Pat DiNizio in his own words…

Light of Day Concerts were held throughout Asbury Park in January and photographer John Posada was on hand to shoot many of them.  We gathered about 40 of his photos for a slideshow gallery across two pages in New Jersey Stage magazine.
