"Danny Coleman's Got The Blues" To Launch On January 6

originally published: 01/03/2020

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) — It's often said that the origins of rock and roll come from the blues. Radio host Danny Coleman will explore the genre, how it influenced rock music, and what the blues artists of today are doing with his new show "Danny Coleman's Got The Blues."  The show takes a fresh approach to the genre by featuring the legendary masters, new shredders, and up and coming artists. It makes its debut January 6, 2020 on WWFM 89.1 FM HD2 Radio. One of two blues programs on Mercer County Community College's JazzOn2 channel, it can be heard anywhere in the world at www.jazzon2.org

Danny Coleman, a professional drummer himself, is best known for his show "Rock on Radio" which airs Sunday evenings at 7:00pm (EST) and for his weekly column entitled “Rock On…” which appears every Thursday at NewJerseyStage.com — the column regularly interviews local and national artists, reviews releases, and provides a list of upcoming shows in the area.

The birth of "Danny Coleman's Got The Blues" along with "Danny Coleman's Rock On Radio" gives listeners a diverse selection of programming on multiple nights and outlets; a little something for everyone. The blues show includes segments such as "The Fiedler Files" named after Aqualung Records founder Jeff Fiedler who donated vintage 78 RPM jazz and blues platters in an effort to preserve these pieces of recorded history as well as facts and tidbits about the artists who created them. In addition, "Coleman's Corner" is a weekly segment that highlights a specific track.

"As a drummer who loves dynamics, I was drawn to blues and rock 'n' roll music from a young age. The blues quickly became my favorite genre to perform once I was exposed to Led Zeppelin and the raw energy roller coaster that they took me on. One of the things I find amazing is how blues music is the foundation of many genres yet constantly gets a bad reputation as 'Boring' or not upbeat; I think many would disagree. On 'Danny Coleman's Got The Blues' I will offer up a diversity of blues music, a little jazz and more in an effort to change some perspectives and enlighten the masses."

"Danny Coleman's Got the Blues" airs Monday evenings at 7:00pm (EST) on WWFM 89.1 FM HD2 radio and online at www.jazzon2.org.  "Rock On Radio" is broadcast from the Hightstown studios of City of Angels Radio and can be heard on www.COARadio.com and www.societybytesradio.com
