(Newton, NJ) -- Comedian Tom Cotter will return to The Newton Theatre on Saturday, November 28th at 8:00 pm. Cotter has taken the comedy scene by storm since finishing as runner-up and becoming the Breakout Star from Season 7’s "America's Got Talent”. He lost to a dog act, but don’t hold that against him; Tom was the first comedian ever to be a finalist on the show. His high energy, rapid-fire style of comedy leaves audiences clutching their sides and rolling in the aisles.
Before America's Got Talent he had won The Seattle International Stand-Up Comedy Competition and Boston Comedy Festival, with The Boston Herald noting “winning by the largest margin of victory in the history of the event.”
Tom's other numerous television and radio credits include night time talk shows, Last Comic Standing, The Howard Stern Show, and his very own special Comedy Central Presents... Tom Cotter. Tom took part in the roasting of the Friars Club Roast of Boomer Esiason in New York City. Tom is also a regular on Fox TV’s “Red Eye” and recently co-starred on an episode of CBS’ “The Good Wife.”
Tom performs in America's most famous comedy clubs, including The Improv, Catch a Rising Star, and Caroline's On Broadway, and has performed at over 300 colleges and in a wide variety of venues from Alaska to China. Tom has been featured at The Montreal "Just For Laughs" Festival, the HBO Aspen Comedy Arts Festival and headlined "America's Got Talent Live" at The Palazzo Las Vegas. His appeal is truly international as he was summoned to London to tour and perform on British Television.
Versatility has allowed Tom to excel in other areas of showbiz as well. His voice has become a familiar staple in commercial voice-overs for many high profile clients including NBC, MTV, Pepsi, McDonald's, Chevrolet and Converse.
Whether it be comedy, voice-overs, or acting Tom Cotter gives it everything he's got. "If laughter is the best medicine, I yearn to be drugged."
Tickets for Tom Cotter range from $27.00 to $37.00 and may be purchased by visiting www.thenewtontheatre.com or contact the Box Office at 973-383-3700.
