(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Chris Rockwell will release his newest studio effort, a self produced emo rap album, entitled Ten Years in the Breaking, with an album release party at the House of Independents in Asbury Park on March 9th at 8:00pm. In addition to a performance of the entire album, Rockwell and his band will be joined by Lyons, Cranston Dean Band, and Drew the Recluse, as well as international hip-hop artist Kosha Dillz, plus a whole mob of special surprise guests.
Ten Years in the Breaking has been in the works for years, but only recently did Chris Rockwell decide to finally bring the songs to life. Collaborators on the album include Jimmy Mura, of the band Harborland, and Zack Slater. This collection of songs marks the first time Rockwell solely handled all the vocal duties on a record himself. "It's a very personal album," says Rockwell, "so be prepared to feel your feelings."
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door. The show is open to all ages. House of Independents is located at 572 Cookman Avenue in Asbury Park, NJ.
Chris Rockwell has been performing hip-hop music and spoken word poetry for the last ten years. In 2013, he self released his album, Buildings Will Collapse, at The Berkeley Hotel in Asbury Park, NJ with his backing band, The Stickball Social Club, to a capacity crowd. He is a two-time nationally competing slam poet, and in 2010 he was named Poet Laureate of Asbury Park.
