(NEWARK, NJ) -- New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) presents Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 8:00 PM in the Victoria Theater. Tickets range from $14-$39.
Carolyn Dorfman Dance Company leads off Jersey Moves! Festival of Dance. With bold athleticism and dramatic nuance, Dorfman creates rich worlds into which the audience can enter.
This program features the premiere of Waves, with live performance by virtuosic musicians and dancers who push the boundaries of their art forms. With cellist Jessie Reagen Mann, multi-instrumentalist and human beat boxer Pete List and recorder player Daphna Mor, the sky's the limit.
The evening also offers the evocative and sensuous duet Under My Skin and the award-winning Klezmer Sketch, in which Dorfman mines the exuberant, yet soulful quality of klezmer music, which inspired her joyous exploration of Jewish gesture, expression, ritual and family.
