ArtPride Seeks South Jersey Photographers For "Clique"

(BURLINGTON CITY, NJ) -- The ArtPride New Jersey Foundation, the New Jersey State Council on the Arts and ArtC announce a call for photographers for the “Clique: South Jersey Artists by South Jersey Photographers” juried exhibition. This exhibit, which will feature images of 16 of South Jersey’s finest artists captured by eight of the region’s most creative photographers, will be on display in two locations in southern New Jersey in 2016: Perkins Center for the Arts in Collingswood in the spring and the Noyes Museum of Art in Oceanville in the fall.

“The energy around this project is inspiring – artists showcasing artists – and I look forward to what will no doubt be a dynamic body of work highlighting a small sampling of the remarkable artists who call New Jersey home,” said Nick Paleologos, Executive Director of the New Jersey State Council on the Arts.

Photographers residing in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean and Salem Counties are invited to submit up to five examples of existing work at http://j.mp/CliqueSJ in order to be considered for the “Clique” exhibition. The deadline for entries is Mon., Aug. 31, 2015.

“ArtPride New Jersey, as well as our partners, welcomes this opportunity to focus on the extraordinary talent of artists living and working in South Jersey,” said Adam Perle, President  & CEO of the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation. “Artists on both sides of the lens will be highlighted for their innovations and accomplishments in their respected fields, and for the amazing art that they bring to our communities.”

Juror John Russo, a South Jersey native, will decide the eight photographers to be commissioned for this project. Criteria will include creativity, originality, technical proficiency and post production skills.

Selected photographers will be notified by September 10, 2015. Each accepted photographer will then be assigned two southern N.J. artists as their subjects, to be photographed separately, and will receive a $1,000 commission.

All photographs used in the "Clique" exhibition will become the property of the ArtPride New Jersey Foundation. However, photographers and their subjects will have unlimited use of their images for self-promotion.
