ArtPride NJ Spotlights Upcoming Events Throughout Essex County

(BURLINGTON, NJ) -- New Jerseyans itching to get out of the house this holiday season have a plethora of live events to choose from. ArtPride New Jersey, the state’s largest arts service organization, is spotlighting in-person theatre, art exhibits and musical performances throughout Essex County as part of its Discover Jersey Arts program. The initiative is dedicated to increasing awareness and participation of the arts in New Jersey.

“Following the success of Discover Jersey Arts Month in October, we want to extend the enthusiasm – which we’re seeing from both event attendees and performers – into the holiday season,” said Adam Perle, President & CEO of ArtPride. “November and December event lineups are stacked with impressive shows, and it’s important we all support and celebrate the re-opening of venues across the state.”

Here is a sampling of upcoming events in Essex County, New Jersey: 



New Jersey Performing Arts Center (One Center Street, Newark)

“Earth Wind & Fire,” an event of magic, muscle and musicianship. For two nights, the GRAMMY® Award-winning group is coming to Newark to fuse the sounds of jazz, blues, R&B, pop, gospel, African roots, funk and deep soul, taking place on December 8 and 9, 2021.

 “The Nutcracker,” from the State Ballet Theatre of Ukraine, is a holiday spectacle full of colorful characters, holiday classical music and Christmas magic, taking place on December 11, 2021.  



The Wellmont Theatre (5 Seymour Street, Montclair)

“Paramount’s Laser Spectacular Featuring the Music of Pink Floyd,” a mind-expanding journey featuring the original recordings of Pink Floyd and a multimedia laser and light show, taking place on December 2, 2021.  

“Duel of the Decades: 80’s vs. 90’s,” a night where two cultural eras go head-to-head in an interactive live music competition, taking place on December 17, 2021. 



Paper Mill Playhouse (22 Brookside Drive, Millburn)

“A Jolly Holiday: Celebrating Disney’s Broadway Hits, a festive concert celebrating Disney’s biggest Broadway hits from The Lion King, Frozen, Mary Poppins and more, taking place from December 1, 2021 to January 2, 2022.

EVENT PREVIEWS

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Holocaust survivor, educator, and New Jersey resident Maud Dahme returns to the Ocean County College campus on Thursday, April 9, 2026 to share her story of being hidden by Christian families as a child in The Netherlands during World War II. This event is open to the public and admission is free.
