Artist Marsha Heller Returns to The Riverside Gallery

originally published: 01/12/2017

Artist Marsha Heller Returns to The Riverside Gallery(LEONIA, NJ) -- Marsha Heller of Leonia, New Jersey will present “New Paintings by Marsha Heller” from February 6 to February 18, 2017 at The Riverside Gallery in Hackensack, New Jersey.  The exhibit highlights the development of her work from semi-representational depictions of landscapes and flowers towards the abstract, such as "Departure".

Born into a family of artists, Ms. Heller studied at Oberlin College, Salzburg Mozarteum and the School of Visual Arts.  In New York, she studied art privately and credits her painting teachers, Irving Marantz and Sam Feinstein, with influencing her work significantly.  Ms. Heller’s work has been exhibited throughout the United States, Israel, and Cuba.

She has received high praise for her art from leading arts publications such as Artspeak Magazine, which said. “Miss Heller’s color creates a shimmering surface in her landscapes. Warm and cool, light and dark they dance around the canvas until flowers, bushes or trees emerge from a tapestry of marks. The seductive mosaic of color is satisfying in itself.”

The public is invited to attend an opening reception on Saturday, February 11 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.  The gallery is open Monday-Friday from 10:00am-9:30pm and Saturday from 10:00am-9:00pm.  The Riverside Gallery, Suite 201, is located at The Shops at Riverside, Hackensack Avenue at Route 4 in Hackensack, NJ.
