(NEW YORK, NY) -- Agora Gallery presents Engaging the Full Spectrum featuring artwork by Nick Bautista from October 27 through November 17, 2020. The group exhibition will feature thirteen contemporary artists of various studio and professional backgrounds. The show features artists that predominantly use paint as the media in their artworks.
The exhibition includes work by Nick Bautista, James Chisholm, Christiane Palpant, Nora Pineda, Anders Ekelund, Charlene Falk, Ai-Wen Wu Kratz, Laura Pretto Vargas, Judy Ann Filipich and Yutaka Fujimori.
In addition, the show includes photographer Ana Leal, Diana Vargas and Dylan Reynolds who take the dynamic approaches to photography to depict awe- inspiring and surreal sensations. Californian ceramicist Nora Pineda takes a three-dimensional approach and uses her sculpted vessels to explore themes of spirituality. Regardless of media, each artist proposes a distinctive lens to understand the world around them.
The artwork conveys what is beyond the first glance, through aesthetic strategies of impressionism, gestural painting, design, and collage. In varying levels of abstraction, each featured artist presents ideas of day-to-day experiences and tries to expand upon them by communicating elements of psychological, spiritual, and internal realities. The familiar such as text, nature, and human figures are framed in a manner to depict their emotional, and energetic characteristics alongside their visual form.
There will be an opening reception Thursday, October 29 from 6:00pm-8:00pm Located at 530 West 25th Street in New York City. Agora Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11:00am – 6:00pm. Entrance to the gallery is free.
