The "Jersey Boys" Come Home - State Theatre Hosts NJ Premiere

Twelve years after its Broadway debut, the Tony Award-winning musical about the rise — and falls — of four kids from New Jersey who became Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons will finally make its Garden State premiere with five performances at State Theatre New Jersey in New Brunswick.


Dream Theater Productions To Present Disney's "High School Musical"

(RAHWAY, NJ) -- Dream Theater Productions will present Disney's High School Musical at Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway from October 20-22, 2017. The production is based on the Emmy Award® winning Disney Channel hit musical. Troy, captain of the basketball team, and Gabriella, a shy academically gifted transfer student, discover they share a secret passion for singing. When they audition together for the lead roles in the school musical, it threatens East High’s rigid social order and sends their peers into an uproar.

Makin Waves with the rootsy family of Mass Folks Commons and Tiffany Harned

Half of the Philadelphia-based tattooed-punk roots unit Mass Folk Commons are from Central Jersey, as is their manager, Tiffany Harned, an accomplished artist and photographer. Both will participate in the fourth and final Makin Waves Rock Circus on Oct. 21 at Roxy & Dukes in Dunellen with The Silverhounds, Coach N’ Commando, Anthony Carrera, Vivi Noir, Vertical Fixation, and Dean Formica. 


Makin Waves’ Record of the Week: The Successful Failures’ ‘Ichor of Nettle’

This week’s Record of the Week is the 11-year-old Successful Failure’s sixth LP, “Ichor of Nettle,” a 16-song outing that blends power pop with roots rock, drops Oct. 20, and can be heard live that day at The Record Collector in Bordentown. 


John Paciga Releases "Other Side Of Town"

Seventeen-year-old John Paciga is an upcoming pianist, singer, and songwriter who has just released his debut full-length album, Other Side of Town. John's well-crafted original music fuses pop, rock, and blues with the piano as the glue that holds it all together. Paciga currently attends Delbarton School in Morristown, NJ. 


Blue Oyster Cult and Jefferson Starship Share A Bill At Mayo

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Classic rock takes over the Mayo Performing Arts Center stage on Thursday, November 9 at 8:00pm when Blue Oyster Cult and Jefferson Starship perform a double bill. Tickets range from $49-$79.

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- The Golden Door International Film Festival (GDIFF) is known for star-studded galas and this year was no exception, with Red Carpet Events each night of the festival. Founded by Jersey City native Bill Sorvino, and named as the Best Film Festival in the state by NJ Stage Awards two years in a row, GDIFF brings the best of independent filmmaking to audiences, and also has a philanthropic mission to raise autism awareness through cinema. This year’s festival, held from October 5th through 8th, featured more than 175 movies at venues throughout Jersey City.

Atlantic City Ballet To Perform Dracula In Lakewood and Atlantic City

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- Halloween just wouldn’t be the same without taking in a performance of Atlantic City Ballet’s “Dracula”. Since 2006, “Dracula” has been mesmerizing audiences with its spell binding choreography, beautiful costumes and captivating music. This year Dracula heads to The Strand Theater in Lakewood on October 28 and returns to the Circus Maximus Theater in Atlantic City on October 29.

Newark and 25 Cities Around The World To Create A Global Traveling Exhibit On Immigration and Climate Justice

(NEWARK, NJ) -- From October 18-21, the Humanities Action Lab (HAL), an international coalition of universities, issue organizations, and public spaces, will gather in Newark to launch a global traveling exhibition on immigration and climate justice -- to be created by local communities in over 25 cities around the world. The occasion will celebrate the recent arrival of the HAL hub to Express Newark, a community arts incubator in collaboration with Rutgers University-Newark.


Jersey City Arts Council to Host Arts Forum With Mayoral Candidates

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- The Jersey City Arts Council, with the support of more than two dozen local arts organizations, will host a discussion of the issues with Mayor Steven Fulop and mayoral candidate Bill Matsikoudis.  The first Jersey City Arts Forum will be held at White Eagle Hall on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 7:30pm. Ann Marie Miller, the Director of Advocacy and Public Policy at ArtPride NJ, will moderate the discussion between the candidates.

The Inaugural After The Harvest Wine & Food Event Will Take Place In Jersey City

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Just as the harvest season winds down this month, the inaugural After the Harvest Wine & Food Event presented by Provident Bank, will be launched at the Culinary Arts Institute at Hudson County Community College in Jersey City on Saturday, October 28 from 1:00pm-6:00pm when member wineries of the Garden State Wine Growers Association and the Culinary Arts Institute and Hudson County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs/Tourism Development team up for this new fall event.  The Convivo Jazz Trio will perform throughout the day and educational wine tutorials will also be held.
