The Springboard Project Is Accepting Applications For Early Support Of Dance-Driven Musicals

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Following the success of its pilot program, launched in the spring of 2017, The Springboard Project has announced the next round of applications for The Springboard Project, an initiative designed to inspire and support early development of dance-driven musicals.

Call for Abstracts for "Bruce Springsteen's Darkness on the Edge of Town: An International Symposium"

(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University has issued a call for abstracts and panel suggestions for "Bruce Springsteen's Darkness on the Edge of Town: An International Symposium" which will take place April 12-15, 2018 in West Long Branch.  The conference's theme is "Hard Truths in Hard Rock Settings."


Latewaves Release Video For "Facedown"

Asbury Park, NJ indie rock trio latewaves will release "Partied Out," their debut EP on September 22 via Panic State Records. The EP was produced by John Ferrara of Trophy Scars. Preorders are available online. A music video for "Face Down" featuring the Grim Reaper wandering around Asbury Park was released on September 11th.


The Marshall Tucker Band Will Return To Newton Theatre In December

(NEWTON, NJ) -- Southern rockers The Marshall Tucker Band will return to The Newton Theatre on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 8:00pm. The band is best known for hits like "Heard It In a Love Song", "Fire On The Mountain", "Can't You See", and "Take The Highway."  Tickets range from $44 to $59.


9 Members To Be Inducted Into Asbury Angels' Boardwalk Of Fame

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) — Nine prominent and influential members of Asbury Park’s music scene have been selected by the Asbury Angels Project to be honored with plaques on the city’s “Boardwalk of Fame,” intended to memorialize those who have made important contributions to the city’s musical legacy.

The GRAMMY Museum Experience To Open at Prudential Center On October 20

(NEWARK, NJ) -- The GRAMMY Museum Experience™ Prudential Center, the interactive experience devoted to exploring music history and education, will open the doors to its 8,200-square-foot location/expansion housed in Newark, New Jersey’s Prudential Center on Friday, October 20 at 11:00am.  Dedicated to celebrating the legacies of all forms of music and cultivating a greater awareness of the history of music with today’s youth, the Experience will feature interactive exhibits, as well as famed historical musical artifacts, such as fashion pieces worn by Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez, Amy Winehouse, and many more.  In honor of the rich musical heritage of New Jersey, the GRAMMY Museum Experience Prudential Center will feature a significant section that pays tribute to New Jersey’s homegrown entertainers, including Frank Sinatra, Bruce Springsteen and Whitney Houston.

Garden State Film Festival Announces Call For Entries For 2018

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Garden State Film Festival (GSFF) is now accepting entries for the 2018 festival. The submission deadline is December 1, 2017. New Jersey's largest film festival, is accepting global submissions of all film genres from children's as well as experienced filmmakers are encouraged to submit narrative films,  documentaries, animations, music videos, in short and feature length as well as PSA's, trailers, original movie music submissions, screenplays and candidates for its coveted Rising Star Award. Always true to its New Jersey roots, the review committee welcomes submissions to its "Home Grown" category. The criteria requires that 75 percent or more of the project has been shot in the Garden State.


Project FX 2018 Now Accepting Submissions

(RED BANK, NJ) -- PROJECT FX 2018, the Count Basie Theatre’s statewide student film competition presented by Bank of America, is live at www.projectFXbasie.com. Starting now, students enrolled at any New Jersey high school or college can visit the site to learn about entering the competition, with an internship experience with Sony Pictures Classics, a high-end Sony camera and $1,000 cash at stake as the contest's grand prize.
