"Newsies" Heads Into Final 6 Performances

(OCEAN TOWNSHIP, NJ) -- Extra! Extra!!  There are only six more chances to catch the high-energy professional production of “Disney's NEWSIES the Musical” at Axelrod Performing Arts Center. A bona-fide Broadway hit, “NEWSIES” was inspired by the real-life Newsboys’ Strike of 1899. Performances continue Wednesday, June 13 through Sunday, June 17. 


Long Branch Theatrical Couple Uncovered Creative Potential of Artists with Disabilities

In the early 1990s Gabor Barabas, MD, was medical director of the Matheny School and Hospital, a special hospital and school in Peapack, NJ, for children and adults with medically complex developmental disabilities. His wife, SuzAnne, who was director of the Peanut Butter Theatre for children, couldn’t help wondering about the creative potential that might reside inside the minds of her husband’s patients if they were given the opportunity to express themselves.

Petula Clark Stars in “Cousin Brucie’s British Invasion” LIVE! at the PNC Bank Arts Center

Thousands of music fans are streaming into the PNC Bank Arts Center on this gorgeous Friday, June 1, 2018 evening. They’re all here to experience Cousin Brucie’s British Invasion Volume I starring Petula Clark, Peter Asher of Peter and Gordon, Jeremy Clyde of Chad and Jeremy, and Mike Pender of The Searchers — a free concert presented by the Garden State Arts Foundation.


BergenPAC Presents Dion In July

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Known for creating some of the most vital and exciting doo-wop music on the American scene, Dion DiMucci (best known simply as Dion) defined rock and roll for an entire generation. On Sunday, July 15th at 8:00pm, this beloved music icon will take the stage at Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) in Englewood.


Regina Carter Named Artistic Director Of NJPAC's All-Female Jazz Residency

(NEWARK, NJ) -- The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) has announced that acclaimed jazz violinist Regina Carter will serve as Artistic Director of this summer’s All-Female Jazz Residency. Carter succeeds the late jazz pianist and composer Geri Allen, the residency’s founding Artistic Director.


WSOU-FM Completes Clothing Drive For The Pine Ridge Indian Reservation

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- As part of the station’s ongoing commitment to community service, the students at Seton Hall University’s WSOU-FM just completed a clothing drive for the Our Lady of the Sioux Church on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota.  The clothing will benefit members of the Oglala Lakota community, as well as others on the reservation.  The student managers of WSOU collected enough donations to ship seven large boxes of clothing and shoes to Sister Barbara Bogenschutz, the church’s parish life coordinator, who will facilitate distribution.


2018 Summer Stars Classical Series In Ocean Grove

(OCEAN GROVE, NJ) -- Classical music returns to Ocean Grove every Thursday night with the 2018 Summer Stars Classical Series.  Presented by the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association’s (OGCMA), the series presents renowned American and international artists in the Great Auditorium.  This year's lineup includes Imperial Brass, Solisti Ensemble, Anthony Trionfo and Albert Cano Smit, Alex and Wesley Park, and the OGCMA Ochestra Finale.

Jersey City Theater Center Screens "How Many Lives?" on June 21

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Jersey City Theater Center will present a screening of How Many Lives? on Thursday, June 21 at White Eagle Hall.  The documentary film, directed by Duda Penteado, explores the views and impacts of gun violence through the eyes of 25 young student artists of Jersey City, NJ. Doors are at 6:30pm, the screening begins at 7:00pm.  Admission is $10.


My Million Dollar Mom - A Film About Alzheimer's

My Million Dollar Mom, a film shot in the Philadelphia area and based on Ross Schriftman’s book by the same name, premiered May 14 at the Ambler Theater in Ambler, Pennsylvania. The film was inspired by real events in Schriftman’s life and stars Pete Postiglione and Susan Moses, two actors who have appeared in film and television shows such as Silver Linings Playbook, Invincible and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
