Jake Clemons Releases Video For His Cover of Leonard Cohen's "Democracy"

(NEW YORK, NY) -- Gifted singer and multi-instrumentalist Jake Clemons has released the music video for “Democracy”, his interpretation of the Leonard Cohen classic that was originally released in 1992.  The video was created by Billie de Buitléar of Hairpin Productions.  “Democracy” was co-produced by Jake Clemons and Jake Hull and mixed by legendary and award winning producer Eddie Kramer. Democracy is the first release from Jake’s upcoming album Eyes On The Horizon.

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) explores cultural identity in literature and music through two separate, yet linked events making up itsMango Suite Project: the Saturday, May 18, 3:00pm author event with 2015 National Medal of Arts winner and author of The House of Mango Street, Sandra Cisneros and the Sunday, May 19, 4:00pm World Premiere performance of Derek Bermel’s Mango Suite by the PSO. Both events take place at Richardson Auditorium.


Bruce Springsteen To Release "Western Stars" - His First Studio Album In 5 Years

Turns out the rumors were true. Bruce Springsteen’s first new studio album in five years will be released on June 14th.  Entitled, Western Stars, the album takes his music to a new place, drawing inspiration in part from the Southern California pop records of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s. The album was recorded primarily at Springsteen’s home studio in New Jersey, with additional recording in California and New York.  


The Wellmont Theater presents Aly & AJ

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Sisters Aly and AJ Michalka (aka Aly & AJ), the duo sensation that brought “Potential Breakup Song” and other tunes to the Billboard charts, will be playing tracks off their EP, “Ten Years,” and other new hits at the Wellmont Theater on May 14, 2019 at 8:00pm.


Hub City Opera and Dance Presents "Goyescas"

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Hub City Opera and Dance Company, Inc. announces its 2019 production of Enrique Granados’ Goyescas, in collaboration with the Dance Department at Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts. The production will take place on Friday, May 10 at 7:30pm and Saturday, May 11 at 2:00pm at the Loree Dance Theater, 70 Lipman Drive, New Brunswick NJ, Rutgers University, Douglass Campus.


The Weight Band To Perform On Opening Day of Rock, Ribs & Ridges

(AUGUSTA, NJ)  --- Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the region’s most vibrant music and food festival and the 50th anniversary of one of the world’s most legendary festivals, The Weight Band – featuring members of The Band and the Levon Helm Band - brings the Woodstock sound to this summer’s Rock, Ribs & Ridges festival. An Interview with Jim Loughlin of moe.

On Thursday, July 4, 2024, moe. will be returning to the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. Joining them will be summer tour collaborators, Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country and Neighbor. To celebrate the return of moe. for the 50th anniversary of the Stone Pony, I was able to catch up with Jim Loughlin (percussionist/Swiss army knife) and relive the glory days of past performances at the Jersey Shore while discussing the current state of the band.
