4th Annual Mistletoe Rock Radiothon Takes Place December 15-17

originally published: 12/01/2021

Press Communications Classic Rock WWZY-WBHX (107.1 THE BOSS) is throwing its 4th Annual ‘Mistletoe Rock Radiothon’ on Wednesday, December 15 with a special concert featuring Tommy Tutone at Bar Anticipation in Belmar. The concert begins at 7:00pm. Admission is $10 with all proceeds going to Michael's Feat, an organization that is dedicated to providing comfort for parents caring for seriously ill newborns.

The station will then be broadcasting live and collecting donations at the CentraState Live Broadcast Center at Center Court in the Freehold Raceway Mall, on Thursday, December 16 and up until 10:00am on Friday, December 17. Donations may also be made online.

"It's so special to again celebrate the season by helping families in need who have been through so much, and to have Tommy Tutone bringing the classics live for our Pre-Radiothon party will be extraordinary!" said Robby Bridges, Program Director.  "Now if only I could remember the number to call to reach him...hmm 867..5..something."

The Michael Gerard Puharic Memorial Fund, Inc, also known as “Michael's Feat” is a local 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing comfort and easing the burden for parents carrying and caring for seriously ill newborns.

Michael’s Feat was created and named in loving memory of Michael Gerard Puharic, who was born on July 29, 2000 to Adam and Dana Puharic, and sadly lived just 83 hours due to a chromosome disorder known as Trisomy 13.  While he was not with us long, Michael's legacy lives on and continues to inspire hope. His brave struggle and the love and caring he brought out in people remains an amazing accomplishment. This is Michael’s “feat.”

For the last 21 years, Michael’s Feat has provided aid, comfort and support to Monmouth & Ocean County families carrying and caring for seriously-ill newborns.

They supplies material goods and both financial and emotional support to those families as they journey through the NICU process, allowing them to focus on what is most important – caring for their child.

They equip our local Monmouth & Ocean County hospitals with life-saving technology, allowing families to receive care near their homes.

They also manage a “room away from home” Family Room at Jersey Shore University Medical Center and CentraState Medical Center … AND a third Family Room is currently under construction at Community Medical Center.

Monmouth Medical Center also hosts their Parent Sleep Suite and they work with a dedicated Michael’s Feat liaison to also support families at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.

This holiday season, join our fight, and help your neighbors and their children.
