2018 United States Super 8 Film + DV Festival concludes Saturday, February 24!

Here is the line up for Day 2 of the 2018 United States Super 8 Film & Digital Video Festival!

Saturday, February 24, 2018

Fledgling - Tony Gault and Elizabeth Henry (Glenwood Springs, Colorado)

A deeply moving, tenderly realized film, Fledgling explores the bond between a man and the baby bird he finds on the street one stormy night. A backyard provides the rich setting for a story about our conflicted relationship to nature. 2009; 7 min. Best of the 2010 United States Super 8 Film Festival!

Keep Dreaming – Daniel Macarone (Summit, New Jersey) With the help of a clever seductress, a man lures his opponent into a trap, nearly cornering him, only to find events repeating in an endless nightmare. 2017; 7 min.

Rise – TaNia Bogan (New York, New York) A touching film about a mother and her daughter. 2017; 7 min.

Decapoda Shock-Javier Chillon (Madrid, Spain) An astronaut returns to Earth after a fatal accident on a distant planet. 2012; 9 min. Best of 2013 United States Super 8 Film & Digital Video Festival!

This is a History of New York -Jem Cohen (Brooklyn, New York) A history of New York City from prehistoric times through the Space Age, composed entirely from documentary street footage. 1988; 22 min. Best of the 1989 United States Super 8 Film Festival!

Miraculous Aqueduct - David Finkelstein and
Ian W. Hill

(Brooklyn, New York) A poetic exploration of the sources of creativity. Do we take a scattershot approach to inspiration, throwing ideas out at random, to see which ones take root? Or can we plug directly into a never-ending source of new ideas, an effortless flow? Miraculous Aqueduct is a journey through an interior landscape filled with tarot cards, towers, and centurions; a collage of words, images and music, in which the film's two narrators discover that acknowledging inner blocks is the key to overcoming them. 2017; 15 min.
