
(LAKE COMO, NJ) -- Danny Federici, the long-time E Street band member, was forced to take a leave of absense from the band on November 21, 2007. A few months later, Federici returned to the stage for what would be his final performance, ultimately losing his battle to melanoma on April 17, 2008. Jersey musicians will get together to remember Federici on May 9 at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, NJ.
The event is called "Friends for Danny" and it will run from 1pm to 9pm. Admission is $20 in advance or $25 at the door. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Danny Fund, a foundation created by Danny's son, Jason, to raise funds for melanoma research.
Performerson will include Tommy Byrne, Bobby Mahoney, Projex Band, Strumberry Pie, The Eddie Testa Band, Sandy Mach & Friends, Alex Julia, Stonebaby, The Nick Clemons Band, JT Bowen, Jo Wymer, Slim Chance and the Gamblers, The Bob Polding Band, Dawg Whistle, and Vini "Maddog" Lopez.
