WIZARDS OF WINTER: The Music of the Trans Siberian Orchestra Comes To Newton

originally published: 09/13/2013

(Newton, NJ) -- The soaring melodies of the Trans Siberian Orchestra will be performed by the Wizards of Winter at the Newton Theatre on Friday, December 13th, as they take you on a musical journey on Christmas Eve.

The Wizards of Winter, featuring some of the mid-Atlantic's finest rock and progressive musicians, reprise much of the Trans Siberian Orchestra's Christmas and Classical catalogue in a spectacular tribute. They will bring their musical intensity, theatrics and holiday cheer to the stage through unique stories - some joyous, some melancholy - but all woven together in a magical Christmas experience!

One clear vision originally brought this group of talented performers together. That was to faithfully reproduce the music of the Trans Siberian Orchestra and present it in a more intimate setting. The result is a powerful, tight production that never fails to bring audiences to their feet. The vision has resulted with the Wizards of Winter production of holiday rock opera entitled " Tales From Beneath a Northern Star".

The performance will take you on a musical journey on the night of Christmas Eve. The audience will travel in search of what Christmas really means to all of us. In addition to their original material, the Wizards perform Trans-Siberian Orchestra's "greatest hits". A multimedia extravaganza, the show features a Christmas narrative complete with singing, dancing, dazzling lights, lasers and of course, excellent music to celebrate the season!

Diversity defines the Wizards of Winter. Its members have sold thousands of records, performed all over the world, from Carnegie Hall to China, and have extensive backgrounds that range from progressive rock, metal and classical, to traditional theater. All of this individual and collective talent wouldn't be at all compelling without the most important ingredient - fun! What sets the Wizards of Winter apart is the cumulative effect of this wide pastiche, yielding a whole greater than the sum of its parts, as evidenced by the camaraderie, support and unmitigated joy of watching this band perform!

This 13 member ensemble boasts soaring vocal harmonies, precision string instrumentation, powerful percussion and stunning keyboards layered around a rich storyboard that evokes December's past! Celebrate the season with an exuberant performance by the Wizards of Winter!

Tickets for Wizards of Winter are $34.00 for Premium seating, $29.00 for the Orchestra and $24.00 for the Balcony. Tickets for this performance will go on sale on Friday, September 13th at 11:00 am. Purchase tickets by visiting www.thenewtontheatre.com or contact the Box Office at 973-383-3700.
