Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...2/15/24

by Danny Coleman - published 2024-02-15

"Yes, it's my first time coming to Jamey's, I'm bringing my band, The High Rollers," said an excited Early Times as he discussed his upcoming debut at Jamey's House of Music in Lansdowne, PA on February 24, his new record "Electric City" and more. "I have a keyboard player, a drummer and a bass player, I play guitar and sing. We do, for the most part, a night of original music. That doesn't mean that I don't occasionally throw in something that people know but I kind of live and die on what I write and what I'm trying to present and it usually goes off pretty well. We're gonna do around a two-hour show; I've never been in Lansdowne and I'm really looking forward to it and I'm hoping to get some people to come out and I feel that when we play a place for the first time that we always make new fans who find us, I think, a little refreshing from the usual bar bands that are playing blues."

Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...2/8/24

by Danny Coleman - published 2024-02-08

"Oh yeah, absolutely! I'm excited to get the music out there and obviously kick-off this tour for 2024 and start playing some of these new songs for the fans," stated Kenny Wayne Shepherd as he discussed his new record, his touring philosophy and the difference between Kenny Wayne Shepherd then and now. "This one is called "Dirt On My Diamonds Vol. 1" because there is a "Volume Two" so we have a whole other record ready to go to follow this one up and that sets us up and puts us in a really good position for the next couple of years to have new material, to keep the tour going and to keep the fans interested in what we're doing for sure."

Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...2/1/24

by Danny Coleman - published 2024-02-01

"Yes, Saturday February 10; I've done this a few times with this group; it has been going for I think about 30 years with different configurations and I've been in and out of it over the years but I've been a mainstay for the last three years now and it's just so much fun. We not only do little tiny individual mini-sets but we do a lot of collaborating, a lot of harmony and it's a really fun show for us," states singer/songwriter Lucy Kaplansky about the upcoming February 10 "On A Winter's Night" show at Monmouth University's Pollack Theater in Long Branch, NJ. "I've played there a bunch of times over the years and the good thing about the setup is that everyone can see; it is kind of a clever way to set up a theater and it's intimate."
