Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...3/14/24

by Danny Coleman - published 2024-03-14

"This is a solo show and now that the post COVID touring world is back, I'm basically on a kind of perpetual tour. I take breaks from it but I'm doing a lot of shows now. I'm doing The Lizzie Rose, I might have a couple of other shows on the East Coast in the same vicinity and we're trying to route it so it's not crazy; I prefer driving to flying but yeah, I'm busy," stated guitarist Stanley Jordan as he talked about his two upcoming March 16 shows at The Lizzie Rose Music Room in Tuckerton, NJ, his upcoming new release, influences and more.

Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...3/7/24

by Danny Coleman - published 2024-03-07

"I should set my clock by you," laughed Leland Sklar as he was just finishing up his last dates on tour with Lyle Lovett. "Then I'm Heading home, then heading to the NAMM Show and then getting ready for the Grammy show; my dance card is pretty full right now; I'm turning 77 and I never thought I'd be this busy at this time in my life. You always kind of assume in a '"Flavor of the month" business that you're gonna be out in the pasture before too long and knock on wood, I think about it all of the time and I always kind of think that a moving target is kind of harder to hit so; keep moving."

Rock On! This Week's Sound Bites...2/29/24

by Danny Coleman - published 2024-02-29

"This is my first book but I'm already halfway through my next one," laughs author Katherine Yeske Taylor, "I'm a glutton for punishment I guess. I guess I didn't realize until I got into it how difficult writing a book is; writing a book is different from writing an article. This book has been two years in the making which is pretty quick as far as books go but it's a lot more and different work than writing magazine articles."
