"We are in Skokie, Illinois, just finished up in Canada and we're playing Chicago tomorrow," said Billy Bob Thornton, a.k.a "Bud" of The Boxmasters as he and guitarist/producer J.D. Andrew discussed the band's formation, recording equipment, sound and a rainy day in West Long Branch as they prepare to return once again to the intimate confines of Monmouth University's Pollak Theatre for a 7 p.m. show on October 11.

"A little bit of all of it; the perpetual state of making music," laughed guitarist Carolyn Wonderland as she discussed her songwriting, her fascination with blues music from a young age, bail money and much more before her upcoming appearance with Shelley King and Cindy Cashdollar on October 6 at The Lizzie Rose Music Room in Tuckerton, NJ. "On this trip, I'm teaching at the Masters of the Telecaster camp upstate. So, since I'm there, me, Shelley King and Cindy Cashdollar decided; why not do a couple of shows? So, it's just the three of us, we're gonna have ourselves a good time; you'll hear some of my songs, some of Shelley's songs, she's got a new record too and of course Cindy; my God, every day is better with Cindy."

"The Hard Line," on Alligator Records was my last album and it debuted at "Number One" on the Billboard Charts and it stayed up there for a while. Being with Alligator has been a game changer for me. My previous labels, VizzTone and Showplace were great but being with Alligator is a completely different ball game."

Basie Center to Honor Kate Pierson and Fred Schneider of The B-52s, Dramarama on Walk of Fame

(RED BANK, NJ) -- The Count Basie Center for the Arts will honor Kate Pierson and Fred Schneider of The B-52s and Dramarama by welcoming them onto its Walk of Fame. Pierson and Schneider will be inducted during a special ceremony on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 12:00pm, outside the historic theater in Red Bank, ahead of The B-52s’ concert at ParkStage in Freehold on Saturday, July 11. Dramarama, also performing at that concert, will be presented with a commemorative plaque at the show.

Free Concerts to be Held Throughout 4th of July Weekend in Jersey City

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Four free live music events will be held in Jersey City parks throughout the 4th of July weekend, featuring a diverse lineup of American music. The series is curated and produced by Riverview Jazz and is presented by the City of Jersey City and Exchange Place Alliance.

Summer Jazz: Drummer Joe Farnsworth and Special Guests at William Paterson

For more than three decades, Joe Farnsworth has been one of the most admired drummers in modern jazz, revered for his superb technique, driving swing, and unwavering commitment to the jazz tradition. A Massachusetts native mentored by legendary drummers Alan Dawson, Arthur Taylor, and Jimmy Lovelace, Farnsworth has appeared on nearly 400 recordings and performed with an astonishing array of jazz masters, including McCoy Tyner, Benny Golson, Pharoah Sanders, Cedar Walton, Harold Mabern, and Wynton Marsalis. He is also a founding member of the acclaimed hard bop collective, One for All, alongside longtime musical associates tenor saxophonist Eric Alexander, trombonist Steve Davis, the late trumpeter Jim Rotondi, and pianist David Hazeltine.
