(ASBURY PARK, NJ) --  The Light of Day Foundation presents WinterFest 2022, the annual music festival taking place January 7-17 in Asbury Park, Red Bank, Montclair, New York City and Rockland County. All performances and events will raise money and awareness for its continuing battle to defeat Parkinson’s disease and its related illnesses ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) and PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) within our lifetime.

“I'm looking forward to Light of Day's return to a vibrant Jersey scene,” said Bob Benjamin, Founder, Light of Day Foundation.  “The shows will heat up the cold, winter nights in Asbury Park, Red Bank, Montclair, Rockland County and New York City with hot live music. The January shows will be our 22nd year of fighting Parkinson's with music and will also mark 22 years of celebrating my birthday with a concert.”

Some of the shows to look forward to include Outpost in the Burbs' Songwriters in the Round (Glen Burtnik, Bob Burger, Guy Davis, Jeffrey Gaines, James Maddock, Glenn Alexander & Oria Aspen, and Joe D'Urso) in Montclair; WinterFest Rockland (Guy Davis, Joe D’Urso, James Maddock, Jake Thistle, Loretta Hagen and Arlon Bennett) in Stony Pony, NY; Cover Me (music of The Eagles, Elvis Costello, Led Zeppelin, and Linda Ronstadt) at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park; WinterFest New York City with Max Weinberg's Jukebox at City Winery; WinterFest Kickoff with Williams Honor album pre-release party, Big Hix, Daughter Vision, and The Weeklings at House of Independents in Asbury Park; Bob's Birthday Bash (Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers, Willie Nile, Jesse Malin and more) at Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank; Asbury Angels Induction (Joe Grushecky & The Houserockers, Willie Nile, Jesse Malin, Fantastic Cat, Kulick, Linda Chorney, Jon Caspi, April Rose Gabrielli and Mike Rocket) at The Stone Pony; Women of Song (Strumberry Pie, Natalie Farrell, The Wag, Lisa Bouchelle, Jo Wymer, Pam McCoy, Dawn Hopkins & Maxine Snow) at The Saint in Asbury Park; Asbury Blues (Norman Seldin, Bocci & The Bad Boys, Anthony Krizan Band, Pam McCoy, Billy Walton Band, Joe Bonnano & the GOS, Indigo Mane, Peter V Blues Band, Sharon Lasher & the Flashers, Karen Phillips and Town & Country Band, James Dalton and Ben Arnold) at The Wonder Bar in Asbury Park; and a trio of Songwriters by the Sea shows with a multitude of talented artists for each performance.

The Light of Day Foundation’s mission is to fund research into possible cures, improved treatments and support for patients who suffer from those diseases, their families and their caregivers to help improve their quality of life. Gifts to the Light of Day Foundation, Inc. are tax-deductible to the full extent of the Internal Revenue Code. Over the course of 22 years, Light of Day has utilized the awesome power of music to raise approximately $6 Million to combat Parkinson’s disease, ALS and PSP. Light of Day has grown from a one-day event into a multi-day festival in the metropolitan area. More significantly, Light of Day has expanded into an internationally recognized tour, through a true grassroots effort of musicians, music fans and benefactors. Light of Day shows have taken place around the world on three continents, with shows in Canada, England, Wales, Ireland, Sweden, Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Spain and Australia. Portions of the proceeds from each show are donated to a local Parkinson’s organization.

Tickets can be purchased for all shows individually, including Bob’s Birthday Bash (events in Montclair, New York City and Rockland County are not included in any of the All-Access packages).
