A “boy band for the end times,” Asbury Park-based indie upstarts Grasser are the Makin Waves Song of the Week with one of two recently released singles from the debut album, “Get Real, Quick!”
The intoxicating chronicle of the dissolution of a toxic relationship, “Get Back 2 Me Never” precedes an early 2022 vinyl release of the LP on South Jersey indie ByrdHouse Records. The single’s clip was helmed by the texture-rich trio and edited by acclaimed indie auteur Dana Yurcisin.
As the Makin Waves Song of the Week, mesmerizing “Get Back 2 Me Never” also can be heard between 6 and 8 p.m. on Dec. 3 on “Radio Jersey” at ThePenguinRocks.com.
The salty strut of “Who Do I See” also teases to a long-awaited vinyl LP release delayed by a pandemic-altered manufacturing schedule. The accompanying band-lensed clip also was edited by Dana.
Both songs feature great harmonies led by Biff Swenson, drummer of the beloved Asbury two-piece Yawn Mower, as well as the legendary Shore act River City Extension.
