Neo-Rockabilly Pioneers The Rockats Releases Cover Of "Nervous Breakdown"


(LOS ANGELES, CA) -- Shortly after the groundbreaking British rockabilly band The Rockats had relocated from Essex to New York in 1978, they were playing a show when up approached a charismatic young guitarist who lavished the group with praise for their performance. Rockats’ stand-up bassist Smutty Smiff struck up a friendship with the charming lad and even took a train out to Massapequa to give him his first rockabilly haircut while teaching him how to grease it up properly. That young American was one Brian Setzer who would ride the rockabilly train into superstardom with The Stray Cats.

MPAC Presents A Sleigh Bell Swing with the George Gee Swing Orchestra


(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Santa’s gonna be  jumpin’ and jivin’ to the swingin’ sounds of the George Gee Swing Orchestra as they spice up the season with big band versions of your favorite holiday music at Mayo Performing Arts Center (MPAC) on Sunday, December 12 at 3:00pm. Tickets range from $29-$49. Following the event, you can enjoy the free Theatre of Light at the Vail Mansion Plaza at 5:00pm.


Berrie Center Presents The Casey Abrams Trio


(MAHWAH, NJ) -- The Berrie Center for the Arts at Ramapo College of NJ presents The Casey Abrams Trio on Saturday, December 4 at 8:00pm. Casey Abrams burst onto the national scene with his head-turning stint on Season 10 of American Idol. With his stand-up bass and smooth vocals Casey has carved out his unique jazz-funk sound. His brand-new album, Casey Keysey was released in October.


Waxflower Releases Video For "Soak"


(BRISBANE, AUS) -- Brisbane-based Waxflower have released their new video for latest single, "Soak." Perfectly encapsulating frontman Tristan Higginson’s raw and emotive vocals, the video sees him being force-fed red pills, and later waking up on a bed floating on eerily desolate water. The video was directed by the band’s guitarist Nick Hargens and Tristan’s brother Giles Higginson.


Mickey Leigh Releases "No Fun Anymore" From Upcoming Debut Solo Album


Legendary NYC musician/author/producer Mickey Leigh has released "No Fun Anymore" the first single off his upcoming debut solo album under the name Mikey Leigh's Mutated Music. The LP, 'Variants Of Vibe', is set for release on February 18 via Wicked Cool Records.

Light Opera of New Jersey Presents "La Bohème" Set In Modern Day NYC


Light Opera of New Jersey will present Puccini's masterpiece La Bohème with performances at Fellowship Village Cultural Arts Center (February 11, 13, 18, and 20) and the South Orange Performing Arts Center on March 27. Andrea DelGiudice will direct a modern-day adaptation set in New York City and utilizes projected images. Noted conductor, Jason C. Tramm will lead the Light Opera of New Jersey Chamber Orchestra.

Spotlight On The New Jersey Film Festival Spring 2022


(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The Rutgers Film Co-op/New Jersey Media Arts Center, in association with the Rutgers University Program in Cinema Studies, presents the New Jersey Film Festival Spring 2022, which marks its 40th Anniversary, on select Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between January 28 – February 20, 2022.  The festival will be a hybrid one as they will be presenting the Festival online as well as doing select live screenings at Rutgers University.

Cape May MAC Christmas Candlelight House Tours return in person


(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- Cape May MAC (Museums+Arts+Culture) launched the Cape May Christmas Candlelight House Tour in 1973 and ever since it has been a highlight of the Christmas season in Cape May, America’s only National Historic Landmark City. On three nights in December visitors travel to homes, inns, B&Bs, churches and hotels, stepping across the thresholds to take in interiors beautifully decorated for the holidays. This self-guided tour is one of Cape May MAC’s largest fund-raisers. ​​​​​​​The three Christmas Candlelight House Tours of the 2021 season are Saturday, December 4, 11 and 18, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, but the tour on December 4 is already sold out!
