(FAIR LAWN, NJ) -- Shanna in a Dress and Kemp Harris will perform at Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club on Saturday, November 13th. The night is a co-billed show, with both performers splitting the evening. Tickets are $20 and available for purchase online.
Shanna in a Dress is your quirky best friend who refuses to wear pants. She says what everyone is thinking but no one else will say and you'll get an uncensored journey of clever humor and heartbreak with a hefty side of entertainment at her shows. This witty wordsmith is known for making audiences laugh and cry, sometimes in the same song. Think Jason Mraz mixed with Ingrid Michaelson with a twist of Phoebe Buffay from Friends all wrapped up in a sweet voice accented by guitar, piano, and ukulele.
Kemp Harris defies categorization. He is a singer and songwriter, a master weaver of American musical styles. He’s an actor, activist, author, and storyteller, and an award-winning educator who has taught young public school students for more than 40 years. Kemp’s powers of observation, his unique gift for shining a light on the modern world and what it means to be alive, have only deepened over a lifetime devoted to the most basic and profound of pursuits: human connection. Whether he’s in the classroom, on a film set, leading a workshop, or performing on the concert stage, “at the end of the day,” Kemp says, “I’m an old black man telling stories and spreading the love.”
To protect everyone's safety, we require that all audience members provide proof of vaccination at the door, and wear a mask while at the show. If you can't comply, you will not be allowed to attend the performance, and your ticket purchase will be refunded.
Hurdy Gurdy Folk Music Club is located at 10-10 20th Street in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. For forty years, they have been devoted to bringing the best in folk music to the Northeastern New Jersey area.
