Neko Jiang's Illustrations On Display At Meet Fresh Jersey City (August 21-28)

originally published: 08/16/2021

(JERSEY CITY, NJ) -- Freelance Illustrator Neko Jiang’s solo show Connection will launched this week, at Meet Fresh Jersey City. Neko will present the most representative illustrations she has created in the past three years from August 21-28. The opening reception will be on August 21 from 7:00pm-9:00pm. Meet Fresh Jersey City is located at (525 Washington Blvd Space E) and is open Monday through Friday from 12:00pm till 9:00pm.

Neko Jiang is originally from Chengdu, China. She came to U.S. 4 years ago. She graduated from Fashion Institute of Technology with a Master of Fine Arts degree in illustration last year. Her illustrations received many awards such as World Illustration Awards, 3x3 Illustration, American Illustration chosen winner.

"I hope my artwork resonates with people," says Neko. “Connection is my very first solo show. I divide my artworks into four themes. Each theme has creative connections with each other. The four themes have connections about my enthusiasm of cats, the cities I have lived in, self-exploration, and my fantastical stories.”

"I’m very excited about the opportunity to exhibit my illustration works at Meet Fresh," commented Neko. "As an illustrator artist, I hope the audiences will feel empathy through the emotions I want to communicate.” adds Neko.

Neko specializes in using bright colors to depict her unique "NEKO" style world. Most of her works are created digitally. “'NEKO' World was first described by a friend as my artistic style, and I found the term very interesting. It's like I'm the creator of a world where I can decide how the characters look like, adding personality to them, and creating the stories behind them. However, what I think of as 'NEKO' World is more like a giant library of personal experiences, emotions, sensations and little things in life that I fuse with my style into my personal works,” explains Neko.
