Black Box PAC Presents Sam Shepard Play Festival

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Elusive playwright Sam Shepard is known for plays such as True West and Buried Child, as well as award-winning acting roles in films such as The Right Stuff.  The Black Box Performing Arts Center will honor Shepard's work this summer in The Sam Shepard Festival, which delivers vibrant script-in-hand performances of a diverse sampling of 5 raucous one-act plays by the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright.

Inside Two River Theater's 2021 Summer Season

Blowupradio.com is an online radio station that supports and promotes independent music from artists across the Garden State. Run by Lazlo, the station hosts an annual benefit for the Spondylitis Association of America, an organization that provides support for a genetic disease which his wife is afflicted with. He is currently seeking artists for the annual compilation and live broadcast for the benefit.

Foo Fighters To Reopen MSG On June 20

(NEW YORK, NY) -- Madison Square Garden Entertainment Corp. (MSG Entertainment) and Foo Fighters will make New York and music history as they welcome vaccinated fans back to the iconic venue on June 20, 2021 for the first 100% capacity concert in a New York arena since March 2020. This important moment will mark Madison Square Garden’s first concert in more than 460 days and the first 100% vaccinated event at the venue, in yet another resounding endorsement of the return of live music.


New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents virtual Pride Celebration June 13-18

(NEWARK, NJ) -- The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra presents a weeklong virtual celebration of Pride Month, June 13–18. The celebration features works by LGBTQ+ composers, an interview with Laura Kaminsky about her chamber opera As One, a performance of Rent’s “I’ll Cover You” in collaboration with Paper Mill Playhouse and a free Zoom event presented in partnership with SAGE, a national advocacy and services organization for LGBT elders.

Summit Elks Make Charitable Donation to Visual Arts Center of New Jersey

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- The Elks Lodge of Summit recently donated $2,000 to the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey to support the work VACNJ is doing with ECLC (Education, Careers & Lifelong Community) of New Jersey. The gift will help fund the Art Center’s work with ECLC’s PRIDE program that assists adults with developmental disabilities make choices for the next steps in their lives. These programs focus on activities that help in one of four areas: social appropriateness, independent living, work enhancement skills, and community participation. VACNJ works with two of the ECLC PRIDE groups each week. Led by art therapist Megan Tuttle, these groups create art to promote social and emotional well-being.

A Look At Middlesex County's Plays-In-The-Park and Music-In-The-Park For Summer 2021

Middlesex County’s Plays-in-the-Park is back live on stage this summer, with performances of “America the Beautiful”, “Rock Roll & Soul”, and “Showtune” performed outdoors before in-person audiences. The County’s popular Music-in-the-Park series, which features musical performances by local bands on Wednesdays and Sundays, also returns to the Raritan Bay Waterfront Park stage at the South Amboy/Sayreville Beach Front on Wednesdays and the Plays-in-the-Park stage in Roosevelt Park in Edison on Sundays.


Berrie Center Issues Call For Artists for "Healing Hands"

(MAHWAH, NJ) -- The Angelica and Russ Berrie Center for Performing and Visual Arts on the Ramapo College of NJ campus in Mahwah, seeks musicians, theater artists, dancers, filmmakers, and other performing artists to present new works-in-progress based on how the arts are contributing to healing in these challenging times. Healing can be from the perspective of individuals, groups, communities, or global impact.
