Brook Arts Center Presents "Rent" In November

(BOUND BROOK, NJ) -- The Brook Arts Center, in association with the Media and Performance Collective, will launch their production of the Pulitzer Prize-winning 1996 Best Musical Tony Award winner, "RENT," this November.  Written by Jonathan Larson and debuting on Broadway 25 years ago, “RENT” will run November 12-21, 2021 at the historic Brook Arts Center in Bound Brook, NJ.

Max Weinberg to Headline NJ Lottery Festival of Ballooning On July 23

(READINGTON, NJ) -- For 45 years, Max Weinberg has held the drum chair behind Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, playing before millions around the world. Now Max Weinberg’s Jukebox comes armed with an unlimited repertoire of classic songs, ready to engage the audience at the upcoming New Jersey Lottery Festival of Ballooning in a truly interactive concert experience on July 23.


The Porchistas & Jackson Pines To Perform Outdoor Show On June 19th

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- The Porchistas will be opening up their yard in Montclair for live music again with a concert featuring them and their friends Jackson Pines on Saturday, June 19th.  Doors open at 6:00pm. They will be following CDC COVID-19 guidelines and limiting attendance to 50 people.

Middletown Arts Center presents "The Decade That Rocked" Exhibit of Work by Mark Weiss

(MIDDLETOWN, NJ) -- The Middletown Arts Center is excited to reopen its gallery doors with a tribute to ‘80’s Rock and Metal music, The Decade That Rocked, an exhibition presenting the work of renowned Rock n’ Roll photographer, Mark “WEISSGUY” Weiss. Also on display is a collection of silkscreen prints created from Weiss’s iconic photographs by Steve Lacy, artist and news anchor from Fox 5 New York. The exhibition is on view now through August 15 and will celebrate Weiss’s birthday and his 40+ years of Rock n’ Roll photography with WEISSFEST 2021, three nights of exciting live entertainment events, from Thursday, June 24 to Saturday, June 26.

Gardens of Cape May Tour On June 12 features both private homes and public spaces

(CAPE MAY, NJ) -- On Saturday June 12 from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, you are invited to step past the frontage and explore the plants and blooms of some of the Cape May area’s natural areas and most dedicated gardeners. You can see both public and private gardens and take home ideas for your own gardens. Smell and see what’s blooming and flourishing in several different seashore locations dominated by sunlight, ocean breezes, sand and salt, but each uniquely situated. Cape May’s Emlen Physick Estate gardens are included, as well as the The Nature Conservancy’s Garrett Family Preserve.


Furniture Designer and Renaissance Man Receives Rotary Club of Englewood's Community Service Award

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- Michael Shannon, President of the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation (NNJCF), was recently honored at The Rotary Club of Englewood's virtual gala with the Community Service Award in recognition of his contributions to the community.  Emmy awarding winning producer and emcee of the festive event, Harry Martin, described Shannon as a Renaissance man with many talents and interests.


12th Annual NYC Juneteenth Hybrid Family Festival to be Held in Brooklyn and Virtually

(BROOKLYN, NY) -- Plans are underway for thousands of New Yorkers and virtual participants from across the country to celebrate Juneteenth with a three-day celebration of music, dance, wellness, poetry, education and more at the 12th annual Juneteenth NYC Family Festival, June 18-20 in Brooklyn. The event will kick off virtually on Friday, June 18th, then become a hybrid celebration including both virtual and in-person events for the remainder of the weekend. In-person events will be held at Herbert Von King Park on Saturday, June 19 and at the Bed Stuy Restoration Amphitheater on Sunday, June 20th.
