(RAHWAY, NJ) -- ReFrame Dance Theatre (RFDT) will present "Remember Me" - an evening of world premiere dances - as part of Rahway’s Culture Crawl Pop Up Series. Hosted in the Rahway Arts District Park (corner of Irving and Central in Rahway) on June 18-20 at 7:00pm this series will include a post performance Artist Talk Back on Saturday. "Remember Me" includes dances by RFDT Artistic Director Nathan Forster, Bailey Benoot, and Charly Santigado.
"Remember Me," the evening’s titular performance, is a dance born from a conversation amongst 20-somethings regarding how they want to be remembered as artists, friends, and people. The trio of dancers comes together and falls apart as they navigate their ever changing relationships across time, bouncing between original poetry and nostalgic classics- all the while accumulating memories in the form of roses.
Given the collaborative nature of the choreographic process, the dancers were invited to present their own premiere choreography. Benoot’s "Junkyard Guitars," featuring live music by Jonathan Kirschner, casts three dancers as the embodiment of a strum, navigating the space within and between the notes. "Grammar of Space," a collaboration between Benoot and Santigado, is a physical investigation of grammar that blends virtuosic dancing with the stage as grammatical structure.
