A pair of New Jersey actors (Jo Wymer and Eric "Swifty" Acierto) are part of the cast for In The Heights presented virtually by BroadwayMania with three performances from May 15-22. The play is an uplifting tale of love, loss, and hope. It centers around a bustling Latin American community in New York City where everyone has a dream. The show focuses on Usnavi, a first-generation American who struggles to find "home" where he lives, and his friends and neighbors who are working to find their place in the world.
The production is directed by Cecy Treviño and Nick Culp. It showcases an international cast and crew from 10 different countries. Featuring music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes. Conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Performances are May 15 at 7:00pm; May 16 at 2:00pm; and May 22 at 7:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online.
Jo Wymer plays Abuela Claudia. Jo is a 2x AMA award winner & Grammy nominee for her original music written for TV. Recent Theater/TV Credits: Evita, In The Heights, Mamma Mia, Every Wednesday Night, A Christmas Story, The Full Monty, Hairspray, White Christmas, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Boardwalk Empire & Hello Beautiful. Eric “Swifty” Acierto plays Graffiti Pete. He has done theatre for several years with credits that include, West Side Story, Grease, and Hairspray.
