Monmouth University Center for the Arts Presents 4th Episode Of Virtual Living Room Concert Series On May 7th

(WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ) -- Monmouth University Center for the Arts presents the 4th installment of their Virtual Living Room Concert Series – Stay Safe, Stay at Home on May 7, 2021 at 8:00pm. The show features some of your favorite singers, songwriters, poets and musicians from the Jersey Shore and beyond. This living room concert features: Steve Forbert and Tom Parr ’85; Lucy Kaplansky; Pat Guadagno; Jim Brickman, Anthony Nunziata and Victoria Shaw, Joe D’Urso and John Gorka.

The concert will premiere on the Center for the Arts YouTube channel  on May 7, 2021 at 8:00pm with a live chat from some of the performers and will be available to stream on the channel anytime afterward.

The concert is directed by Monmouth University Alumnus Tom Parr ’85 and sponsored in part by Riptide records.

Previous installments are available for viewing online. Volume 3 includes performances by Geoff Sewell, Dr. King, Matt O’Ree and Eryn, Lisa Lowell, Steve Conte, Ray Andersen, Sutton Thomas, Rosemary Conte, Michael Waters, and GennaRose Nethercott.  Volume 2 includes performances by Roger McGuinn, Remember Jones, Zack Sandler, Richie Furay, Joel Krauss, Ross Owen, David DeRosa, Mary McCrink, Pam McCoy, Andy McDonough, Tommy LaBella and Amy Phillips.  And Volume 1 includes performances by Steve Forbert, Pat Guadagno, Jessie Wagner, Bobby Bandiera, Marc Ribler, Harry Filkin, Carl Gentry, Lowell “Banana” Levinger, Sara Devine, Eddie “Kingfish” Manion, Franke Previte & Lisa Sherman.

An Interview with Dan Kurtz of The New Deal

Formed in 1999, Toronto, Canada based trio The New Deal, is a pioneer in jam-based electronic music. The group was founded by remaining members Dan Kurtz (bass) and Jamie Shields (keys), along with Darren Shearer (drums) who left tND in 2011. Since its inception, tND has remained committed to its improvisational roots and has served as a model for other jamtronica bands bridging the gap between multiple music genres as well as the border between Canada and the United States.
