Black Box PAC Presents "Fat Men In Skirts"

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- Next up at the Black Box Performing Arts Center is Nicky Silver’s Fat Men in Skirts, running April 29 through May 16. Family life comes unhinged in this ever-hilarious, certifiably insane, and at times poignant, comedy. After 11 year-old Bishop and his mother, Phyllis, are stranded on a desert island after a plane crash, sanity unravels and passions fly. Meanwhile, at home, dad/husband Howard is having an affair with a giddy young actress, Pam. The twists, the turns, the horror, and the ludicrous converge as the four characters attempt to gain the audience’s sympathy - even at each other’s expense. 


Passage Theatre Company Presents "A Twist Of Water" To Close Out 2020-21 Season

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Passage Theatre Company is ending its 2020-21 mainstage season with an online production of A Twist of Water by Caitlin Parrish and directed by Michael Osinski. This highly anticipated show makes its digital debut after being delayed one season due to the pandemic. The production will be available to stream online from May 12-16, 2021.  


Theater League to Hold Auditions
 for "Jesus Christ Superstar"

(CLIFTON, NJ) -- The Theater League of Clifton will hold auditions for its production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” on April 27 and 28, with call backs on April 29. The start time for all three dates will be 7:00pm, and the auditions will be held at Living Hope Presbyterian Church, 303 Maplewood Avenue, corner of Emerson Street, in Clifton (adjacent to Valley Road).

"Go, Jimmy, Go!" Spotlight on '50s and '60s Teen Idol Jimmy Clanton

Jimmy Clanton is known as one of the most popular teen idols of the 1950s and ’60s. Between 1958 and 1962, the “Swamp Pop Teenage Idol” had seven charted hits — including three which reached the Top 10 and four which were million sellers — in addition to starring in films and sharing the stage with a variety of well-known artists including Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Platters, and many more.


Princeton Symphony Orchestra Presents Outdoor Chamber Concert Series Throughout May

(PRINCETON, NJ) --  The Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) will present springtime series of live  chamber music concerts taking place on successive Thursdays in May at 6:00pm on the beautiful grounds of Morven Museum & Garden. The four-concert series offers performances by the orchestra’s string players, the duo of Boyd Meets Girl, Momenta Quartet, and the PSO Brass Quintet. Outdoor seating consists of marked-off, socially distanced “pods” for up to two people, and masks are required at all times in keeping with current state health guidelines.


Mexican Rock Band Zoé To Play Shows In NY and Philly

The iconic Mexican rock band Zoé have announced an extensive U.S. tour in support of its new album ‘Sonidos de Kármatica Resonancia.’ Produced by Live Nation, the 26-date tour launches with two nights at the House of Blues – Chicago in late August and wraps up in Anaheim, CA in mid-October. The band comes to New York with a show at Kings Theatre on August 29 and is at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on August 31.


Jazz on the Back Deck Returns to the Morris Museum

(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- One of the little miracles of 2020 was the Back Deck Concert Series, which gave musicians and audiences one of the few chances to experience each other LIVE. Jazz on the Back Deck kicked off that experience last year when the Morris Museum’s Back Deck Parking Lot into an outdoor performance space. 119 individual blocks, 8’ X 8’ each were created, big enough for two people, so that music lovers could safely experience the joys of live music. Below is the lineup, beginning May 6 and continuing through September. 


Axelrod PAC Presents “Upon the Roof” Summer Concert Series In Asbury Park and Holmdel

(ASBURY PARK) -- The Axelrod Performing Arts Center (APAC) hosts the official opening of the newly restored Arthur Pryor Bandshell on the Asbury Park Boardwalk with a special concert event on Wednesday, May 12, at 6:30pm featuring the Paragon Ragtime Orchestra (PRO).  They kick off the Vogel Summer Concert Series which APAC is presenting on Wednesday nights throughout the summer in Asbury Park.

RVCC to Present Outdoor Dance Concert of Student, Faculty Performances

(BRANCHBURG, NJ) -- Raritan Valley Community College’s (RVCC) Arts & Design department will present DanceWorks, an outdoor event of student and faculty dances, Friday, April 30 at 6:00pm, and Saturday, May 1 at 3:00pm. A rain date has been scheduled for Sunday, May 2 at 3:00pm.  Produced by Loretta Fois, Director of RVCC’s dance program, the event will be held on the Basketball courts at the College’s Branchburg campus.
