McCarter Theatre Center Presents “The Manic Monologues” Interactive Website

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- McCarter Theatre Center in association with Princeton University Health Services, The 24 Hour Plays® and Innovations in Socially Distant Performance, a project of the Lewis Center for the Arts at Princeton, will launch The Manic Monologues, a digital theatrical experience to disrupt stigma and spotlight a conversation about mental health. The free interactive website made its debut in mid-February.


Broadway's Lisa Howard and Catherine Ashmore Bradley Join Spandex The Musical Along With Sound Designer Kai Harada

Nothing can keep you down. No man. No woman. Not even a global pandemic! The creators of Spandex The Musical, a new original musical inspired by the viral video of the 1988 Crystal Light National Aerobics Championship, are producing a new audio musical from quarantine! While the cast connects in a virtual Zoom world, cast members record themselves from their respective home studios all over the country. These recordings of the full script and score will be mastered into a full audio-musical told episodically in podcast format.  Drama Desk Award Winner Lisa Howard and Catherine Ashmore Bradley have joined the cast and helming the sound team is Tony-Award winning Sound Designer Kai Harada. 


Black Box PAC Presents "The Pillowman"

(ENGLEWOOD, NJ) -- The Black Box Performing Arts Center, Inc., presents Martin McDonagh’s The Pillowman, presented in special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc from March 11 through April 3, Thursdays through Sunday at 8:00pm.

WSOU'S Under The Stars Begins "Fall Out Boy Month"

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- “Under the Stars” is WSOU’s Pop-Punk/Emo/Post-Hardcore show. There is no band as prolific and defining to the pop-punk community as Fall Out Boy. They have paved a generation of emo kids and are still just as relevant in 2021 as they were during their breakout success in 2005. With the band turning 20 years old this year, Under the Stars honors the legacy of the band by highlighting them all month.


Christian Sparacio Releases An Acoustic Version of "About Time" ft. Telco

New Jersey artist Christian Sparacio has released an acoustic version of "About Time," ft. Telco. Christian says that “doing the acoustic rendition of about time brings it back to its roots as an acoustic track, and it served as the perfect 1st collab with my friend telco.”


Westrick Music Academy Now Enrolling for Term 4 Virtual Music Classes

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Westrick Music Academy (WMA), home of Princeton Girlchoir and Princeton Boychoir, is currently enrolling students of all ages in a variety of music education classes, exploring new and engaging ways to build and strengthen musicianship skills.

A few years ago, my long-time postal worker retired.  Knowing that I wrote about music and had an online radio station, he surprised me one day by giving me a few hundred albums from his vinyl collection. It was a mix of releases from the late sixties, seventies, and early eighties - generally classic rock and folk music. After Hurricane Sandy he was downsizing and I was one to benefit.

Spring Improv Class Is Online for Adults and Teens at Dreamcatcher

(SUMMIT, NJ) -- Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional Theatre in Residence at the Oakes Center in Summit, is offering a virtual improv class this spring for adults and teens aged 18 and up. The class will be held Monday  evenings from 7:30pm-9:30pm for eight weeks starting April 5 and ending May 24. The cost is $280.

Danielle Durchslag Talks About Her Short Films Being Screened At NJ Jewish Film Festival

Danielle Durchslag is an artist and filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. She has exhibited around the world, including solo exhibitions at Denny Gallery and Yale University. She has several short films being screened virtually in the New Jersey Jewish Film Festival, which runs now through March 21.

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Mike Sampson has joined Montclair Film as the non-profit’s new Director of Marketing.  Sampson comes to Montclair Film with over 20 years of experience in the film industry.

A Virtual Artist Talk With Sadie Barnette on March 30

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- Artist Sadie Barnette delivers a free virtual lecture and Q&A on March 30, beginning at 6:00pm. Sponsored by the Zimmerli Art Museum and Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, this program is open to the public. This lecture is part of an ongoing series of programs related to the Zimmerli’s upcoming exhibition Angela Davis—Seize the Time, for which Barnette is developing a new installation. Barnette’s drawings, photography, and large-scale installations speak to the intersection of familial, cultural, and political history.

NJ Farmers Cooperative Awarded Grant to Feed South Jersey's Hungry

(NORTH CAPE MAY, NJ) -- The New Jersey Farmers Cooperative (NJFC) has announced that it has been awarded an NJEDA grant to feed the hungry which will result in the distribution of 150,000 meals to food-insecure South Jersey residents. The New Jersey Farmers Cooperative will be partnering with the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, The Branches Center of Rio Grande, and local school districts among others, to get these meals into the hands of those who need them most. NJEDA-approved restaurant partner Willow Creek Winery has stepped up to prepare the meals.

WHATCo presents Free performances of Shakespeare's "The Tempest"

(KEARNY, NJ) -- The West Hudson Arts & Theater Company (WHATCo) is bringing the Bard back to West Hudson this summer! William Shakespeare's The Tempest will be performed in Arlington Depot Park in Kearny on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 7:00pm and in East Newark's new Riverfront Park on Sunday, July 20 at 6:00pm. Both performances are free of charge.
