(FREEHOLD, NJ) -- Center Players Dessert Theater continues its online programming with An Evening of Short Films, streaming Friday, March 12th at 8:00pm. A question and answer session with the directors and cast members will follow this free event.
The theme of the evening is connection, or the lack thereof, either due to technology or COVID-19. The films scheduled to be screened include:
* Misconnected: Directed by Michael Tota (Jackson, NJ) - An uncle and nephew attempt to have a conversation in the digital age.
* Acoustic Space: Directed by Anthony Marinelli (Manalapan, NJ) - A short film about how technology has changed the way we communicate.
* Mugging . . . the Art of Social Distancing: Directed by Dave McGrath (Long Branch, NJ) - A short comedy about an everyday event incorporating six feet of social distancing.
* Smile: Directed by Jeff Musillo (Brooklyn, NY) - Two New Yorkers meet online and learn more about each other as the days of COVID drag on.
Registration is required to access this event. Registration information can also be found at www.centerplayers.org and on Facebook.com/centerplayersnj. While the event is free, donations are greatly appreciated and accepted on the website as well.
Celebrating its 21st season at Center Playhouse, Center Players is a respected, award-winning organization, presenting high quality, engaging productions featuring local talent in downtown Freehold. In addition to their signature plays, the group also sponsors free play readings and other special events and offers dinner and theater packages with several local restaurants. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the group has formed “Center Players Off Stage” to provide virtual programming until it is once again safe to open the Playhouse doors.
