(MANASQUAN, NJ) -- Charles Dickens' classic seasonal story A Christmas Carol returns to the Algonquin stage in a one-man production with six performances between December 11-20. In the spirit readings performed by Dickens himself and many subsequent single-actor performances, actor Jan Topoleski will bring the beloved Christmas tale to life.
Topoleski is a local theatre veteran and Algonquin crowd favorite. He has directed many productions of Scrooge! The Musical and receiving rave reviews as Ebeneezer Scrooge in the Algonquin's 2018 production of A Christmas Carol: The Musical.
Other Algonquin credits include leading roles as King Arthur in Camelot, The Old Man in A Christmas Story The Musical, Juan Peron in Evita, Lord Farquaad in Shrek: The Musical, Lancelot in SPAMALOT and Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha. He has directed Algonquin productions of A Few Good Men, Noises Off, The Producers, Carousel, South Pacific and The 39 Steps.
Performances are on Friday, December 11 at 7:30pm; Saturday, December 12 at 2:00pm; Sunday, December 13 at 3:00pm; Friday, December 18 at 7:30pm; Saturday, December 19 at 2:00pm; and Sunday, December 20 at 3:00pm. Tickets are available for purchase online.
The production is recommended for ages 10 & up. Children under age 4 are not admitted. Final running time is to be determined, but estimated to be 2 hours including 1 intermission.
