“The Art of Window Dressing” To Take Place On December 4th

(RIDGEWOOD, NJ) -- Lynn Needle, Founder/Artistic Director of the Art of Motion Dance Theatre collaborates with the Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce and HeART in Motion Studios for “The Art of Window Dressing”. This event brings the magic of the holidays to life with live dancers appearing at the Boutique storefronts in Ridgewood’s Downtown Business District for the annual Downtown for the Holidays festivities on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 6:00pm-8:00pm.  

Principal Dancers from the Art of Motion Dance Theatre along with youth from HeART in Motion Studio based in Ridgewood, NJ will premiere “The Art of Window Dressing” on Friday, December 4, 2020.  Iconic holiday characters from “The Nutcracker” and Victor Herbert’s “Babes in Toyland” will appear in storefront and Boutique windows bringing life to window displays.  The public is invited to stroll on Ridgewood Avenue which will become a pedestrian walkway, closed to vehicular traffic.  Santa Claus and “The Grinch” will appear and make a surprise appearance, as well as a toy train.  Families are invited to stroll the avenue, shop, browse, and interact with the dancers through windowed appearances. Since 2002, Art of Motion, Inc. a non-profit educational and cultural organization and home to the Art of Motion Dance Theatre, has performed in the annual Downtown for the Holidays Tree Lighting attended by more than 5000 people. This year AOM has partnered with the Ridgewood Chamber to design a response to the pandemic that would be safe, entertaining and fun for the public and focus on honoring and celebrating the arts and collaborating with retailers and merchants.  Participating stores include Bookends, Hillmann Lighting, Oasis, Victor’s Men’s Clothing, Kilwins, Panico, The Ridgewood Man, Felina, Araya Rebirth Spa, and Karma Organic Spa, among others.  

Art of Motion, Inc. (AOM) is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching and presenting dance, theatre, vocal music, body conditioning, and literary and visual art projects. AOM serves dancers and artists from the metropolitan area including Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Rockland and Westchester counties and New York City. AOM offers a range of programs from early childhood to adult.
