Darlene Love and Cast of "Jagged Little Pill" Offer Shows To Benefit Count Basie Center For The Arts

originally published: 11/14/2020

(RED BANK, NJ) -- Two streaming concert events starring Miss Darlene Love and the cast of Broadway smash Jagged Little Pill will help raise funds for the Count Basie Center for the Arts. Tickets for the two shows must be purchased through www.thebasie.org in order to benefit the Basie Center.

On Saturday, December 5, soul legend Miss Darlene Love will stream a performance called ‘Love For The Holidays’ live from Sony Hall in New York City. It’s perfect timing for Miss Love, whose #1 holiday classic “Christmas Baby (Please Come Home)” – not to mention her annual holiday performances at the Count Basie Center itself – is synonymous with the holiday season. Her other No. 1 Billboard hits include “He’s A Rebel,” “The Boy I’m Gonna Marry,” “Wait ‘Til My Bobby Gets Home” and “He’s Sure the Boy I Love.”

Tickets, priced at $35, allow the viewer to watch live on Saturday, December 5th at 8:00pm, or on demand for 48 hours after.

On Sunday, December 16, the Broadway cast of Jagged Little Pill will reunite for one night only – and for the first time in ten months – to present ‘Jagged Live in NYC: A Broadway Reunion Concert.” Elizabeth Stanley, Celia Rose Gooding, Sean Allan krill, Derek Klena, Lauren Patten, Kathryn Gallagher, Antonio Cipriano and more alongside the Jagged Little Broadway Band for a night of searing performances — and an electrifying dose of collective joy.

Tickets for this event, priced at $27, are available now through an exclusive presale at www.thebasie.org with the offer code JLPresale.

In addition to helping raising funds for the Basie Center, ‘Jagged Live In NYC’ is presented in the spirit of the vital #SaveOurStages movement that has risen during the Covid-19 pandemic. The concert directly supports our nation’s most vulnerable venues experiencing catastrophic revenue loss during this time of suspension for live arts.

Through Monday, November 16, Basie patrons can purchase tickets, with proceeds from those sales to support future programming. The #SaveOurStages movement is spearheaded by the National Independent Venue Association, of which the Count Basie Center is a member.

The Count Basie Center for the Arts is located at 99 Monmouth Street in Red Bank, New Jersey.
