(MORRISTOWN, NJ) -- Members of the acclaimed Orpheus Chamber Orchestra will perform live at The Morris Museum's "Lot of Strings Music Festival" for Three Performances in October: 3, 10 and 24. Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Brahms, Beethoven and 21st Century's Jessie Montgomery will fill the bill and the air with glorious sounds on the Museum's parking deck.
The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra regularly sells out the most esteemed music halls in the world. Now members of the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra will perform on the Morris Museum's Museum’s Upper Parking Deck for the Museum's fall edition of the acclaimed “Lot of Strings Music Festival.” Orpheus performances of chamber masterpieces are always played with what the New York Times described as their “edge-of-the-seat intensity."
These early evening concerts are choreographed to coincide with the sunsets that have become a signature of this new series that the New York Times described as “Live Music Splendor in a Parking Lot”.
For the October 3rd concert, hear these master musicians play the famed sextet from Richard Strauss’s opera, Capriccio, a staple of chamber music, and a highlight from his final opera which he subtitled “A Conversation Piece for Music” before continuing the "conversation" with Tchaikovsky’s virtuosically thrilling “Souvenir de Florence.” The performers will be Richard Rood, violin, Eric Wyrick, violin, Nardo Poy, viola. Dov Scheindlin, viola. Eric Bartlett, cello and Jonathan Spitz, cello
The October 10th performance on the Upper Deck will feature the work of Brahms, Beehtoven and 21st century composer, Jessie Montgomery and her piece, Strum. The Washington Post called Strum, "Turbulent, wildly colorful and exploding with life."
