BlowUpRadio.com Presents 13th Annual Benefit for the Spondylitis Association Of America: “Banding Together” October 16-18

originally published: 09/21/2020

Internet radio station and music website BlowUpRadio.com, Where NJ Rock Lives, continues its annual Banding Together: Benefit For The Spondylitis Association of America this October, once again bringing together some of the best local indie musicians from around the Garden State, and the world.

This year’s Banding Together webathon, with over 50 live performances, will be broadcast live on BlowUpRadio.com October 16th through 18th. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all performances will be done remotely from the performers’ homes or rehearsal spaces to stay within social distancing guidelines.

“I know 2020 has been a very trying year for all of us but after talking to a number of musicians and listeners, I knew we had to try to continue this annual tradition," said Lazlo, the founder of BlowUpRadio.com and the organizer of Banding Together. “We realized that bringing people together for a weekend long music festival may be exactly what we need to take our minds off everything going on in the world, and it is for a great cause that is so personal to me as my wife suffers from anylosing spondlytis (AS) and I know first hand the debilitating effects of this disease and the chronic pain and discomfort it causes.

“I am thankful that so many musicians were eager to be a part of this remotely,” he added. “This benefit is only possible because of the amazing musicians involved.”

Artists scheduled to perform during the Banding Together webathon include: AFTYN, Aidan Jack Finnecy, Amanda Rose Riley, Big Mother Gig, Blue Vervain (Jon Khan), Catherine Wacha, Charlotte Morris, Chris Rockwell, Christian Beach, Dave Vargo, Deena & Jon (from The Cucumbers), Diego Allessandro, Don Lee, Evil Annie & The Ants, Greg McGarvey, Happy Joe Canzano, J Orellana (erase:rewind), J Thoubbs, Jason Michael, Joe Billy, Joe Mifsud, Josh Bicknell, Katye Kellye & The Interruption, Lisa M. During the broadcast, listeners will have opportunities to donate to the Spondylitis Association Of America (SAA) and download an exclusive compilation featuring previously unreleased songs from dozens of featured artists. All money raised will go directly to the Spondylitis Association Of America (SAA) to fund research and provide the programs and services the spondylitis community has come to rely on.

Spondylitis is a genetic rheumatoid arthritic condition that causes inflammation and fusion in the vertebrae of the spine. To date, BlowUpRadio.com has raised over ten thousand dollars for the cause, and raised awareness of the genetic disease, which the Centers For Disease Control says affects more than 3.2 million adults in the US.

In addition to the webathon, there will be a new digital compilation, which will be available by donating to the Spondylitis Association Of America. The compilation includes 65 previously unreleased songs from: A Halo Called Fred, AFTYN, Aidan Jack Finnecy, Amanda Rose Riley, Big Mother Gig, Blue Vervain , Bruce Tunkel, Catherine Wacha, Christian Beach, Colie Brice III, Deena, Delsea Drive, Diego Allessandro, Don Lee, Dw. Through their efforts, they help advance education, research and treatment for ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and related diseases. For more than 35 years SAA has dedicated all of its resources to help improve the lives of people coping with spondylitis.

BlowUpRadio.com is “Where NJ Rock Lives”. In December they will be celebrating 20 years as a website & Internet radio station supporting New Jersey’s local, original music scene by playing predominantly unsigned New Jersey bands.
