(CAMDEN, NJ) -- Over the last 15 years of producing theatre, the South Camden Theatre Company has often presented pieces written by people of color. Playwrights from August Wilson to Lynn Nottage have given provided some of their most rewarding and well-attended shows. So, they decided to take this time, while the arts are shuttered due to Covid-19 to reach out to artists and ask for submissions that represent how they feel about the current climate surrounding the Black Lives Matter movement.
The end result is a free event that you can watch on YouTube on Friday, September 4th at 12 noon - their first-ever Virtual Variety Slam — Black Lives Matter. It will be 22 minutes of some of the most powerful, thoughtful, and amazing work you've seen in some time. They promise you won't be sorry for taking the time to watch.
