(DEMAREST, NJ) -- The Art School at Old Church has begun registration for all Fall 2020 classes and workshops, which begin September 8, 2020. With so much uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, The Art School at Old Church is committed to offering art with your safety and comfort in mind. Registration is available online and via mail. The Art School is not accepting in-person registration requests at this time. To view the interactive Fall 2020 Catalog, visit tasoc.org/course-catalog. Classes are offered in ceramics, painting, drawing (including comic book design), sculpture, jewelry making, needle felting, and more!

A full suite of offerings is available through The Art School’s Virtual Classroom. Alongside online offerings, in-studio classes follow CDC guidelines, including limited capacity for social distancing.  For a full list of the precautions we are taking for in-studio classes, visit tasoc.org/course-catalog and click on the “TASOC Reopening Plans” PDF.

“In these days of COVID-19 I felt safe coming to class.” says The Art School at Old Church student Barbara Barba, who recently took an in-studio ceramics class at The Art School this summer. “Social distancing and mask wearing were followed. We disinfected all surfaces that we worked in. The instructor took extra care, as well. I would not hesitate to continue taking classes!”

“Our founders built The Art School at Old Church on the mission that arts education can improve the quality of life in the community,” says Executive Director Lisa Beth Vettoso. “We believe that now, perhaps more than ever, we need the arts to unite us, inspire us, and motivate us. Through the arts we learn to look at things from another perspective, and problem solve through creativity. It has been a long road, but we know that we can get through it together, creatively!”

Create a ClassThe Art School is offering a new experience this summer, made to order!
