Registration Open for Mercer County Community College’s Kids’ Tomato Patch Virtual Summer Workshops and Mercer Activity On-Campus Camps

(WEST WINDSOR, NJ) -- Would your child love to participate in theater, dance, vocal music, visual arts, sports, wilderness-training and other fun and educational activities with small groups of kids who share the same interests? Registration is underway for the 2020 Tomato Patch Visual and Performing Arts Virtual Workshops and Mercer Activity Camp summer sessions at Mercer County Community College (MCCC).

Paisley Fields Performs Live From The Legendary Stonewall Inn

To celebrate the 51st anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, an event that would jumpstart Pride as the annual event we would come to know, queer-country songwriter Paisley Fields has released a video performing their single "Ramblin' Ranger" from the recent Don Giovanni Records released album Electric Park Ballroom.  


New York Youth Symphony and New Jersey Youth Symphony Launch Artist Stories Series

(BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ) -- The New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), and the New Jersey Youth Symphony (NJYS), a program of the Wharton Institute for the Performing Arts, announced that they will co-host an Artist Stories Series, a series of weekly one-hour virtual conversations exploring the importance of equity, inclusion, and representation in the classical music, jazz, and Broadway world.


"No More Than You Can Handle" Spotlight on Orleans' Lance Hoppen

Orleans was formed in 1972 in Woodstock, NY by guitarist/keyboardist Larry Hoppen, guitarist John Hall, drummer Wells Kelly, and bassist Lance Hoppen. In 1973, the band released its first album, Orleans, and followed up with such memorable hits as 1975’s “Dance with Me” and 1976’s “Still the One.”

"What We're Made Of" is an older song but during the pandemic we kind of decided to do the whole social distancing Zoom thing," says American Nomads keyboardist and co-founder Walter Kenul (Pron. Kennel) with a laugh as he discussed the band's recent release of two older singles which are very relevant in today's world. Richard Humann our lyricist thought of it and we all agreed; it turned out great and we're very happy with it."

James R. Halsey Foundation of the Arts Presents "The Summer Expert Education Series"

(TRENTON, NJ) -- The James R. Halsey Foundation of the Arts presents ‘The Summer Expert Education Series,’ where top media industry experts share their time and expertise with the JRH ‘Let’s Film students’ via online learning sessions. The film and arts students have an opportunity to learn about the expert’s background, their career and also engage in a question and answer dialogue.  Educator and JRH Founder, Joseph A. Halsey teaches each weekly summer long learning session; Halsey says, ‘This is such an amazing educational opportunity for the students to learn more about the media industry, and have high level access to top media professionals.

The Art School at Old Church Announces Blast of Art!, an Online Summer Camp for Children

(DEMAREST, NJ) -- The Art School at Old Church has begun registration for Blast of Art!, its popular annual summer day camp for children ages 6 through 12. This year’s Blast of Art! programming will be held online, but with the same great classes and the same greater teachers. Week 1 will run Monday, August 3 through Friday, August 7, and Week 2 will run Monday, August 10 through Friday, August 14.   


West Windsor Arts Council names Jyotika Bahree as President of its Board of Trustees

(PRINCETON JUNCTION, NJ) -- West Windsor Arts Council has named Jyotika Bahree as President of its Board of Trustees. She brings an impressive background in marketing and financial management as well as years of dedicated community service to the arts center. A former councilwoman who served on West Windsor Township’s zoning board of adjustment, Bahree has been an active volunteer of the Maurice Hawk PTA for many years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management. She is currently a stay-at-home mother living in West Windsor with her husband and three children.

(ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) -- The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City Safe + Sound Reopening Plan & Protocols has been developed in accordance with guidelines provided by Hard Rock International and adopts the Atlantic City Casino Industry's Summary Plan of Proposed Reopening Protocols in order to make the best possible efforts to provide a safe and secure environment. The new and stringent protocols also adhere to the directives from the World Health Organization and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. The Plan has received approval from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

Fall 2025 New Jersey Film Festival Preview

(NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The New Jersey Film Festival returns to Rutgers University September 5 through October 10, 2025. As it has done the last few years, the festival will include select in-person screenings with all films available via video on-demand (VOD) as well. There are also a few screenings available only via VOD. Twenty films will have their New Jersey or Area Premiere (Middlesex County).

Akwaaba Gallery presents Martryce Roach Solo Exhibition Reflecting the Great Migration

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Akwaaba Gallery is proud to present "Patterns: People in Transition," the second solo exhibition of New Jersey born artist, Martryce Roach. The exhibition features a collection of brand new paintings, ranging in size, that explore the rich history of the Great Migration and its synergy with blues music. The exhibition will be on view through August 15, 2025 with an opening reception on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm.

Jazz Concert at Trenton City Museum will Feature the Joe Baione Vibraphone Experience

(TRENTON, NJ) -- Trenton City Museum will present a free jazz concert Friday, July 18, 2025 at the museum's Ellarslie Mansion in Cadwalader Park. Featuring world-renowned vibraphonist Joe Baione, the Joe Baione Vibraphone Experience is the first group to perform in a series of jazz events leading up to the museum's 2026 TRENTON MAKES JAZZ exhibition, in collaboration with the City of Trenton.

Art by Sydnei SmithJordan is Part of Exhibition in West Deptford

(WEST DEPTFORD, NJ) -- The vibrant, story-driven artwork of celebrated Cape May-area visual artist Sydnei SmithJordan will be part of the featured lineup in an exhibition at the Riverwinds Community Center in West Deptford. Running July 1 to August 30, 2025, the dynamic show will include the work of SmithJordan — known for her unique pop fusion style oil paintings of historical figures and future newsmakers— alongside pieces by fellow artists Gloria Gammage Davis, Quinton Greene and Robyn Huber.

One of the town's newest initiatives includes the inaugural Montclair Theater Festival, presented by Vanguard Theater and The Essex County Board Of Commissioners. This eagerly anticipated event is set to take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at Glenfield Park in Montclair's historic Fourth Ward.
