(EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ) -- The Mystery of Edwin Drood, a musical murder mystery by Rupert Holmes will be running at Playhouse 22, East Brunswick’s Community Theater, from February 7 to 23. The Mystery of Edwin Drood is based on Charles Dickens’ final unfinished novel.
Holmes received Tony Awards for Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score and the Broadway production won five Tony Awards. The musical whodunit invited the audience to solve its mystery by choosing the identity of the murderer.
Playhouse 22’s production is directed by Stephen D. Belfatti with choreography by Raven Dunbar Abbott. Cast includes Rosanne Christie as Chairman/Willimina Cartwright; Brian Johnston as Jasper/Clive Paget; Jenny Weiner as Helena/Janet Conover; Jason Tamashausky as Neville/Victor Grinstead; Cindy Chait as Princess Puffer/Angela Prysock; Justin Luckenbaugh as Bazzard/Philip Bax; Elizabeth Susswein as Drood/Alice Nutting; Joe Zedeny as Rev Crisparkle/Cedric Moncrieffe; JoJo Parks as Deputy/Nicole Cricker; Tony Rossi as Durdles/Nick Cricker; Elizabeth Rzasa as Rosa/Dierdre Peregrine; Jessica Junqua as Sarah Cook; Hanna Wasserman as Gwendolen Pinn; Lea Jeffers as Isabel Yearsley; Alexandra Bancroft as Florence "Flo" Gill; Dawn Egan Milburn as Violet Balfour; Megan Liberty as Nicolette Michael; and Francisco Mestres as James Throttle.
Performances are Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00pm; and Sunday afternoons at 3:00pm.
