"The Christmas Caper" Returns To HACPAC

(HACKENSACK, NJ) -- The Hackensack Department of Cultural Arts presents The Christmas Caper at the Hackensack Performing Arts Center December 6-8 and December 13-14. This is a two-act ninety-minute seasonal fantasy saga of Santa's stolen sleigh. A terribly despondent Santa announces that no toys can be delivered to all the children because his transportation has been maliciously ripped off by terrible villains; the vicious Count Evo, his three goofy sidekicks, Patch, Itch and Maxie


Exit 82 Presents "It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play!"

(TOMS RIVER, NJ) -- Exit 82 Theatre Company will kick off the holiday season withr their annual production of It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play! This holiday classic will be performed in Exit 82’s immersive studio theater and comes to life with the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage as a charming 1940s radio broadcast. With live sound effects, a trio band and some caroling, It’s A Wonderful Life will be sure to spark the audiences’ Christmas spirit. Performances run across two weekends this holiday season: December 13 - December 15th and December 19 - December 21.

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- interACT Theatre Productions will present FROZEN Jr., the local company’s 8th annual children’s production, from December 6-15 at South Orange Middle School. Based on the Disney film, Frozen Jr. follows the adventures of two sisters as they discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood.

Samara McLendon Wins 8th Annual Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition

(NEWARK, NJ) -- A distinguished panel of judges and pillars of the jazz community awarded Samara McLendon first place in the 8th Annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition. The competition to find the next great jazz vocalist was held on Sunday, November 24 at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC), as part of the TD James Moody Jazz Festival.


The Campfire Flies To Perform At The Saint

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- The Campfire Flies will make their Asbury Park debut when they perform at the Saint’s 25th Anniversary Series of Shows, Sunday December 1. Music will begin at 2:00pm, the Campfire Flies will take the stage at 5:00pm. Admission is $10.


Outpost in the Burbs Presents The Milk Carton Kids and Mark Erelli

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Outpost in the Burbs presents The Milk Carton Kids on Friday, December 6, 2019. The concert will take place at 8:00pm (doors are at 7:00pm) at the First Congregational Church, 40 S. Fullerton Avenue. Opening the show will be New England-based multi-instrumentalist Mark Erelli. Outpost volunteers will be collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys for Toys For Tots at this concert.


NJSO presents 2020 Winter Festival: "In the Spotlight"

(NEWARK, NJ) -- Music Director Xian Zhang’s love of opera and ballet inspires three weeks of epic works from the stage in the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra’s 2020 Winter Festival, January 3–19 in six New Jersey venues. The Orchestra’s signature artistic event features music from Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, Mozart’s Don Giovanni and The Marriage of Figaro and Wagner’s Ring cycle, all conducted by Zhang.


SOPAC Presents Cherish The Ladies For A Celtic Christmas Show

(SOUTH ORANGE, NJ) -- Irish-American supergroup Cherish the Ladies celebrates the holiday season with Celtic Christmas, a tour that includes back-to-back performances in a return engagement to SOPAC on Sunday, December 22. Arriving just in time for Christmas, Cherish the Ladies delights audiences with virtuoso instrumental talents, beautiful vocals, captivating arrangements and stunning step dancing. Performances are at 3:00pm and 7:00pm. Tickets are $40-$40.


Steve Forbert & The New Renditions To Perform Matinee Show Following Light Of Day

(ASBURY PARK, NJ) -- Light of Day Winterfest 2020 will present an "After-Fest" matinee event on Saturday, January 25 at House of Independents.  Steve Forbert & the New Renditions will perform as a special send-off to the 20th anniversary of Light of Day.  Doors open at 2:00pm. Tickets are $25 with $60 VIP tickets available as well.


New Jersey Festival Orchestra Presents The Three Holiday Tenors

(HOPEWELL, NJ) -- Stand Up For Something  is a series of comedy shows created by comedian Dan Marquez as a way of giving back. Each show benefits a different, local charity whose hard work and selflessness should never go unnoticed. Lighthouse International Film Society To Screen "Emocean: A Love Letter To The Sea"

Montclair Film Announces The Launch of The Mark Urman Award Fund

(MONTCLAIR, NJ) -- Montclair Film has announced the launch of the Mark Urman Award Fund, in honor of the late film distributor Mark Urman. The Fund has been established with Mark’s wife Deborah Davis and the family and close friends of the Urman family to fund a cash prize for the Montclair Film Festival’s Mark Urman Award For Fiction Filmmaking, offering direct financial support to the winning filmmaker of the annual Montclair Film Festival’s Future/Now Competition, a juried competition of five films made by first and second time American Independent filmmakers.

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Labyrinth Books and the Princeton Record Exchange present a conversation with Kurt Cobain’s manager and close friend, Danny Goldberg on Tuesday, December 3rd at 6:00pm at the Princeton bookstore. Goldberg is the author of many books including Serving The Servant: Remembering Kurt Cobain, which was released in April 2019.
