A Music Festival With A Unique Approach
"We try to meld both art and music with beautifully original stage backdrops, artworks throughout the venue, and roving sketch artists", commented founder and president Gidge Miller. "This year we have top performers holding free music workshops with the $30 festival admission, and an open jam which we hope will be especially attractive to local musicians".
The Hudson West folk festival is a non-profit organized by a handful of longtime music presenters based in Manhattan and Jersey City that have come together to present their favorite performers. It is an indoor, rain-or-shine event with one hall dedicated to continuous music on two stages, and another hall that provides a bar, food and vendors. Easily accessible by both the Path train and by car.
“Hudson West Folk Festival, in just its third year, has managed to assemble a mind-boggling array of singer/songwriter talent. Just saying the names Mary Gauthier, David Olney and Sam Baker in the same sentence is akin to quoting from the Book of Tao," said Richard Cucarro, Acoustic Live.
